Five reasons why you should feel guilty about over-eating during the holiday weekend and indulging in chocolate bunnies…

5) You believe in striving for perfection

4) You love to verbally abuse yourself with phrases such as, “You’re such a failure. I hate myself for always sabotaging my goals.”

3) You believe that chocolate is evil and will go directly to your hips the second it touches your lips.

2) You get a high from the self torture that you go through as you watch everyone else eat desert while you refuse.

Spring Forward Into Fitness

Apr 08 · by Angie Tousignant

I woke up at 6am this morning and was so excited to get out for my morning walk. It was still dark. I love this because it’s very quiet and I feel so centered while walking and listening to the birds chirping. I also caught a few glimpses of some bunnies hopping around! (Hiding those eggs, I bet:) ) My walks not only help me to maintain my physical health, but are also very therapeutic for me.

I find that my thoughts get more organized and many of my concerns get sorted out or ‘answered’ you could say. I feel a wonderful calmness inside when I walk in the stillness of the early morning.

I have never seen an opportunity like this in the fitness industry. Trust me, you are going to want to keep reading and click on the links below. This is all thanks to my friend Nick Nilsson, the most creative fitness guru out there. He’s so creative that he’s adopted the nick name “Mad Scientist”.

Angie and I have both experienced great success with Nick’s workout programs over the past 4 years. I have also been using his programs to help my personal training clients achieve phenomenal results.

I gained six and a half pounds of lean muscle mass in just 28 days with his “Muscle Explosion” program. Angie firmed up her thighs and tightened her butt with Nick’s “Gluteus To The Maximus” program. This is also the program that I put many of my female clients through as well as some of the guys who want to build a butt because theirs is flat.

Lets face it. When you get a new workout program you expect to learn something new. Often times you discover that it’s the same old recycled crap on the market. One thing that I can guarantee with Nick’s programs is that you will learn something new from each one.

Here’s The Great News…

Keep Your Fitness Within A Budget

Jan 28 · by Angie Tousignant

Achieving a rock, solid body does not need to cost you a fortune. Heck, it doesn’t even need to cost you a dime! Your own body weight can be utilized to help you to achieve those 6 pack abs you’ve always wished you had. What do you need to do?

To start, you need to make a plan on when you will do your cardio component. You should aim for at least 5 days/week to get your heart rate up. You may walk, jog, skip, bike, do jumping jacks…whatever it is that you enjoy! The idea is to find something that you love to do and that you will stick with over a long period of time. I’m talking a very L-O-N-G time, like your entire life! Don’t make this just some passing phase. 30 minutes of vigorous exercise is great. Or, you may choose to do a 15 minute ‘interval’ session. For this you will alternate between jogging very fast and then slowing down, then speeding up, then slowing down. You can do this for 30 sec. intervals or 1 minute. It is really up to you. Barack Obama, the President of the United States, is making it to the gym 6-7X/week for 90 minutes. What a great role model. I mean he could have every excuse to not make it, but he understands the importance that physical fitness plays in his role as the leader of his country. He strongly believes that, “physical fitness yields mental fitness.” The two concepts have been married in his mind ever since says his family and friends. I, too, strongly believe that my mind is much more focused and better apt to perform mental tasks more efficiently when I workout that day. [Read more →]

Your Waistline - Food Density To Blame?

Jan 23 · by Angie Tousignant

When it comes to keeping your waistline trim for life, take a really good look at the types of food you are choosing. Foods such as fruits and vegetables are low in calories and can therefore be consumed in high volumes. You will feel full longer on these types of foods. Whereas, if you choose sweets and processed foods, you are risking consuming a high number of calories by eating only a small volume of food.

Just envision this: a small hamburger on your plate. Or, a large salad, sandwich on whole wheat bread, and celery sticks. Now, what do you think will keep you feeling full longer?

Try this today: For your first 3 meals, have a serving of fruit. For your next 3 meals have a serving of vegetables at each meal. There are many reasons why eating more fruits and vegetables will keep you slim: [Read more →]

I came across an excellent article published in the UK involving families. The government is mandating that PE be implemented 2 hrs each week in the schools. The problem is that the children are not getting any slimmer.

A more recent study decided to focus on the families of these children. Parents were educated on changing their entire behavior by eating more healthy foods and the importance of exercise on a daily level.

The results were quite astonishing.

A review of 64 studies involving 5,230 people found that “children lost up to seven pounds through changing their home diet and activities over 12 months.[Read more →]

An Empowering Moment

Jan 20 · by Angie Tousignant

Okay, I really need to share an eye opening moment with all of you. My son had some ‘leftover’ french fries on his plate after dinner. They looked very tempting to me. I looked over at my husband and said, “Okay, I can eat these, put them in the fridge, or toss them. What should I do?” He replied, “Toss them!” When I took that plate and slid those fries into the garbage, it was such an exhilarating experience. I felt so empowered. My exact words to Scott, “I feel skinnier from just doing that.” I seriously did. It felt THAT good. He then replied, “You need to do a blog about this.”

Whatever it is that you want - whether it be frequent sex, more enjoyable sex, more intimacy, or more sexual desire … I’d vouch for ‘all of the above’ … the key is to EXERCISE.

Here are just a few ways that exercise will directly increase your sexual satisfaction:

1. Regular physical activity, just walking for 25 minutes 3X/week will decrease impotency related problems. Physiologically every time you engage in physical activity, your heart rate will increase, thereby pumping more blood to all of your organs… [Read more →]

Here are just a few ways that your relationship will enhance when you workout with your partner:

1. Begin to feel more connected as a couple. Now you have a common goal to focus on. You are both putting your thoughts and energy into creating an atmosphere for your goals to flourish. Working out together is quality time. You will have a lot of talk about. You will have a solid half hour to truly bond. You can plan to workout when you are most likely to have little interruption.

2. Lifestyle will become more conducive to a fit and healthy couple. This is fantastic! When you begin to workout together and feel GREAT, you want this feeling all the time. You will begin to appreciate quality, wholesome foods. You will realize that eating well makes you FEEL well. When you feel well, your entire outlook on life enhances! As a couple you may begin to question some of your current activities if they do not suit a healthy lifestyle. For example, sitting on the couch for hours and eating chips on a daily basis is not what fit people do day after day. You will find yourself gravitating towards activities such as: joining a walking club or bowling. This is just what happens when you realize how awesome being fit feels!

3. Have a TON more Energy! This is simply the best [Read more →]
