Every Other Day Diet Lifestyle Plan-Day-6

Hi this is Angie and I want to report in on my progress of the Every Other Day Diet Lifestyle Plan. I have really been tested today. I did not have the greatest day. I find that when my kids do not finish their food, I have become the human vacuum cleaner.
The Fit Chic
I really despise wasting any food so I always think that I’m doing a great thing by eating their leftovers! This is not good when I’m trying to lose some body fat. I really want to be accountable to myself and to you so I checked my body fat % today and I am at 19%. I was quite surprised. I’m sure some of you are thinking, “Wow that’s really low…” Others are probably thinking … “Okay, where is she hiding that?” And I’m sure others are realizing that I can definitely challenge myself to get that to a lower, ‘athletic’ state. Which is what I want! I’m not sure why I’m surprised…I’ve been eating lots of junk and snacking at night before I decided to go on this journey.

The Every Other Day Diet
Now that I have said all of this here is my goal. In two months I want my body fat % to be 14% or under. I do not care what I weigh as long as I am looking and feeling leaner and tighter! I am now a role model. I am studying to become a certified ISSA Personal Fitness Trainer! I also see myself as a role model to my children. I love that I can run and chase after them around the yard. They love it too.

More about my day…today I woke up feeling sick and just wanted my comfort food of peanut butter and toast. I had two pieces, loaded with peanut butter! It was delicious, but I should have only had one slice of toast and more protein such as eggs. I realized this as soon as I ate it. So my next meal was better. I had egg whites with spinach and some strawberries. My next meal was a homemade banana muffin and I had more fruit. Mmmm, this was a nice snack. For dinner, I slipped and had a chicken wrap with some sweet potatoes. Ooops too many carbs for me! I should have had just the chicken with vegetables.

Once dinner was over I took some more time to really look at my plan, ‘to think about my goals, and I realized that I just need a swift kick in the butt! That is when Scott came in and told me to, “just quit. Just tell everyone you are a quitter.” This is what I needed. It got me really mad at him at first, but then I became empowered to really take this seriously and be IN CHARGE of shaping my future. I know I need to step this whole plan up a notch and be more accountable to myself. I have the plan right in front of me! The Every Other Day Diet Lifestyle Plan is so easy to follow…I just need to go over my goals and get myself into the right mindset. I know I have the tools, I just need to use them!

Oh, and I just polished off my HUGE salad…so I am not totally unfocused today! Tomorrow will be better. Good night. One more thing…I did find the time to work out today too. I worked out on chest and back, doing supersets. It was an intense workout and I was done in 20 minutes flat.

Cheers to health,

Angie

Every Other Day Diet Lifestyle Plan Journal-Day-5

Hello! I am doing really well with the Every Other Day Diet Plan! I feel energized and not deprived one bit! I actually feel that I’m eating too much of what I want. Isn’t a ‘diet’ plan suppose to feel like someone else is dictating what I eat? Seriously I don’t feel deprived at all. Which is a good feeling :)

The Every Other Day Diet
I went for a fast-paced 30 minute bike ride. Today was my cardio day. I came home and had some egg whites with spinach and some cut up raw vegetables.

Later in the day I had to bring the kids to the mall and we ended up at McDonald’s…gee how did that happen? Lol… Anyway, I was sooooo tempted to get a hot fudge sundae and then I quickly envisioned the body that I want and I order a grilled chicken wrap. I was quite proud of myself. I just wanted to share that with all of you. Oh, and the wrap was satisfying! I didn’t think it would taste as well as it did.

I was so tired today, my daughter was up through the night so I had an early night to bed. I missed my ‘detox’ meal…I fell asleep at about 9pm. I never do this! I guess I really needed it.

Cheers to health,

Angie

Every Other Day Diet Extreme Plan-Day-5

Today is day 5 of the Every Other Day Diet Extreme Plan for myself. I spent yesterday in bed with a fever. I learned from the day before to drink loads of water and I got right back on track with my eating. This totally helped because today I’ve got more energy than I had prior to catching that 24 hour cold. So here’s what I did today…

The Every Other Day Diet
A couple of my meals consisted of my egg white and spinach concoction which I totally love. My pre and post workouts meal consisted of oatmeal and blueberries along with some tuna in a separate bowl. I finished the day off with a totally tasty chicken salad.

I feel back to myself again and the fat burning is kicking in as well. That little setback sure wasn’t enough to stop me. It would have been so easy to pack in the bags and give up after a day of eating like crap. I could have said, “Here I go again sabotaging myself just when things get going.” But there’s no way in hell that you’ll ever hear me say that. Not when I’m accountable to you and need to lead by example.

Today following the Fit Bastard Year Of Workouts I did a 20 minute Back and Biceps workout that left me totally pumped. I felt amazing in the gym today. It was like I was already in my dream body. My confidence was through the roof. It helped that I was looking at a leaner body in the mirror ;)

Still no cardio. I’m going to work it into my program starting tomorrow. That will definitely put my fat loss in overdrive.

Keep the questions and comments coming. It’s been great reading them and I appreciate the support.

Have a frickin awesome day!

Every Other Day Diet Lifestyle Plan-Day-4

Hi, this is Angie here…yes, I am BACK!! I know I’ve kinda disappeared from the ’scene’ for a bit, sorry I’ve been totally putting my focus towards achieving my ISSA certificate as a “Certified Personal Trainer” It’s been such an exciting journey so far! I have decided to leave my job that I was at for the past 9 years. It’s been a HUGE adjustment in a positive way. I love learning about health and fitness and especially applying different techniques whether that be in the form of food habits and/or weight training.

Angie Tousignant
I am currently following the Every Other Day Diet – Lifestyle Plan. I am on Day 4. This has been the perfect challenge for me. I am a busy mom. I have two young children. Shayne is 6 and Noelle is 4. I find that with this plan I am not too restricted in such a way that I CAN allow myself to bake the desserts WITH my kids on the ‘feed days’ (every third day) and we can enjoy our ‘treat’ together!

For me, the number one reason I wanted to do this was to challenge myself more. I really want to burn more fat and get more defined, especially in my thighs! I am not overweight. I am satisfied with my body…for lack of a better word. I have never really challenged myself to see if I can sculpt it better!

The Every Other Day Diet
I want that look…you know what I mean…the defined legs and calves! I must also admit that I do have my fair share of ‘dimples’ in my thighs too! So if I can make a change and if that change is not going to totally alter my everyday routine and I can still have my ‘treat’ days… and most importantly I will be shedding unwanted body fat, increasing my lean muscle mass, and thereby becoming a much more healthier and energetic person…what am I waiting for?! I must ask you too…what are you waiting for?

My most difficult moments are when I do bake a ‘dessert’ and I have my share on my ‘feed’ day and then the leftovers are just sitting there. For some reason those desserts seem to look better and more scrumptuous with each passing minute! Also, at night is when I want my snacks…now I have my detox meal. I have a huge salad with lots of veggies and onions. I am actually getting used to this quite fast. I then brush my teeth and I don’t crave anything else.

I really love onions so I have lots of those in my salad with just a bit of dressing. Poor Scott says he can smell the onions before even coming close to me! Needless to say he’s been staying away! I think that having only a healthy salad at night is going to be a huge contributing factor to my fat loss.

I have following The Fit Chic workouts. I love working out. I always have. I find it clears my mind and gives me a TON of energy! It’s my natural endorphin pill.

I actually find I get very irritable when I don’t work out. After a good, hard work out I feel like a new, and refreshed person. My workouts are very quick. This is how I like it. I have a few dumbbells in our basement, a bench, and some physio balls. I put on some uplifting cardio music and away I go. There are no distractions! Just me and the weights! I love it:) I am done is about 20-25 min.

I’m looking forward to sharing this journey with you.

Every Other Day Diet Journal-Extreme Plan-Day-3

It’s day 3 of the Every Other Day Diet Extreme Plan and I’ve hit my first setback. I guess I’m human after all. I’d like to share with you why I think I experienced this setback and how I have overcome it…

The Every Other Day Diet
I woke up this morning with a really bad headache, a bit of a sore throat, and just feeling all around weak. Angie was feeling like this yesterday. We’ve been around a lot of sick people lately and I think some of my personal training clients were kind enough to pass it along to me.

So things didn’t start off to well. It’s pretty common for me to crave carbs when I’m not feeling very well, but I had my healthy natural breakfast of several egg whites and some vegetables. I was trying to do my best but I just felt so darn weak. I didn’t have any food prepared in advance and I really didn’t feel much like cooking. Angie was out doing some shopping and I just grabbed the most convenient things.

It was mid day and I probably only had 2 cups of water and didn’t feel much like drinking. I was quickly getting dehydrated. I typically drink 12 to 14 glasses of water each day. Then Angie came home.

Since she’s following the Every Other Day Diet Lifestyle Plan, today she was allowed to treat herself. We pretty much never have junk in the house. When we want to treat ourselves we leave the house to buy it and consume it.

Well Angie brought in a big bag of chocolate covered almonds. She’s got better control than me when it comes to chocolate. I haven’t had those things in over a year and I absolutely love them.

Well feeling sick, not drinking any water, and being fatigued from lack of sleep, plus having recently consumed a meal with refined carbs, my body was primed for the craving. I gave in and indulged in the chocolate covered almonds. Then I had pasta for dinner.

I knew what was going on, but I wasn’t thinking too clearly from the dehydration.

The satisfaction from eating the junk was short lived. I felt lousy afterward. Bloated, fatigued, irritable. But never guilty. I don’t feel guilty when I do this. I just take a step back and analyze the situation.

I look at the big picture. First of all, I’ve been doing totally amazing in the past 10 days. I’m experiencing excellent results and felt great. Next, I look to the future. Is this binge really enough to hold me back. No frickin way baby!

Jon Benson mentions in the Every Other Day Diet book, “Dedication to the goal is more important than dedication to the plan.”

I love that! Yes I slipped up on the plan for a day. But my goal of developing eye popping abs and becoming the best role model that I can be for you is way more important than sitting her and sulking over the fact that I fell off the wagon so to say.

Setbacks are all part of the journey. We all experience them in one form or another. But when you look at the big picture, this challenge really is quite minor.

I now know that I should have been smarter and drank more water throughout the day. This I guarantee would have eliminated a lot of my urges. Next I had to tell Angie the next time that she comes in with chocolate and it’s not my day to eat some junk, please hide it from me. And also, if I would have had a few extra meals prepared in advance I wouldn’t have had to scavenge through the cupboards looking for refined carbs.

Here’s a big lesson for you…

When you experience a setback, you don’t have to try to make up for it all at once. Tomorrow I plan on eating just as I would if I hadn’t had this setback. I’m not going to go do 2 hours of cardio.

What I will do is sit back and reflect on what I’ve learned and get even more excited about the journey ahead. I must say that holding myself accountable to you has had a tremendous impact. Accountability is huge!

So, I’m not upset with what happened today. I’m excited about what will happen tomorrow. I’m excited for the opportunity to overcome this challenge and grow as a person. I’m even more excited about sitting back and thinking about how great I’ve felt on this program and how lousy it feels to eat crap.

So here I am moving forward. It will be exciting to see that I will still come out ahead when I take my measurements after this week even though I’ve had this so called setback.

Thank you so much for your support. You all ROCK!

Every Other Day Diet Journal-Extreme Plan-Day-2

Honestly, this is getting ridiculous. I just told Angie, “Look at me! Fat is just melting off my body!” She agreed 100%. We’re both amazed at the results that the Every Other Day Diet are producing. I do believe that it’s doing exactly what it’s designed to do, which is burn your bodies fat stores for energy instead of just using the sugars and carbs for fuel.

The Every Other Day Diet
What I ate today:

3 whole eggs with 1 diced green pepper. My next meal was prior to my workout and I was expecting to be home before the pre-workout meal, but I was held up. I grabbed a chicken sub from Quizno’s because I knew that I needed something in me.

Bread just does not make me feel very good any more. Either does dairy for that matter. I’ve got to say that I’ve never been a low carb guy. I always thought that I needed lots of starchy carbs for energy.

On the Every Other Day Diet Extreme Plan there are a few days where I do go low carb and my energy is still through the roof.

I also ate some chicken and sweet potatoes after my workout. Later I had 3 whole eggs with vegetables and home made salsa. I finished off the day with a large chicken salad.

Today’s workout:

The Fit Bastard Year Of Workouts Plan called for leg training today. Oooh my favorite ;) The workout was 25 minutes of pure intensity.

When I walked out of the gym and stepped off the curb one of my quads cramped up. Man I know I’m going to feel this over the next few days.

Once again, no cardio today. I was thinking of doing it this morning but I played a late hockey game last night and wanted to make sure that I at least got five and a half hours sleep.

I can’t wait to take my next photo and see the improvement.

Thanks for all the comments and emails. You have all been very supportive. I’m extremely happy that my honesty has shone through on this. I’m happy to help you any way that I can.

Have a totally fantastic and awesome day!

Every Other Day Diet Journal-Extreme Plan-Day-1

Finally, the day I’ve been waiting for. Angie and I prepared some foods ahead of time last night in order to get ready for the week ahead of us on the Every Other Day Diet. We had some chicken cooking in the crock pot and I made some egg white and spinach omelets. Now let me explain a bit about the differences between all 3 Every Other Day Diet Plans…

The Every Other Day Diet
First there is the Every Other Day Diet-Primer Plan. This is perfect for someone that has a lot of weight to lose and for the person that wants to ease into the diet transition. You are allowed to eat the foods that you enjoy every other day.

Next there is the Every Other Day Diet-Lifestyle Plan, which Angie is following. You don’t get to eat your favorite ‘junk’ foods every other day, but pretty darn close. In my opinion anyone can follow this plan and you will definitely experience tremendous results. And like the title, you can absolutely follow it for life.

Last but not least there is the Every Other Day Diet-Extreme Plan, which I am following. This is not for everyone. This is the program that Jon Benson uses himself as well. Basically once a week you will be able to eat some junk. I know that I can handle it because I’ve done it before. To me it’s definitely not overly restrictive.

What I ate:

Today, I ate the egg whites and spinach for breakfast, had a chicken breast and some sweet potatoes an hour before my workout and the remainder of it after my workout. I then had 2 great big chicken Salads later on that day.

Definitely not feeling deprived at all. I don’t even feel like I’m on a diet because these are foods that I enjoy. Plus the energy that I have is through the roof.

What workout I did:

I’m following The Fit Bastard Year Of Workouts Fat Burning Phase I. Today I did a super intense 25 minute chest and triceps workout. That’s right! 25 minutes. You don’t need to spend hours in the gym to get in great shape.

It felt great to be back in the gym after taking a little over a week off. I felt like my muscles were thanking me for the break.

I didn’t do any cardio at all today.

Everything is continuing to go very well. I couldn’t be happier ;)

Have a totally amazing day!

Every Other Day Diet Journal-Detox Results

After completing the Every Other Day Diet Detox Plan I didn’t just have to do a double take at my incredible results, I actually redid the measurements 6 times because I just couldn’t believe it. I was expecting some weight loss including some fat, water, and a bit of muscle. However I was not expecting nearly all the weight loss to come from fat. How much fat did I release from my body?

The Every Other Day Diet
4.5 pounds discarded weight from my body and damn near all of it from fat in 7 days. I did the caliper measurements 6 times (which I am very well practiced at), and stepped on my very expensive bio-electrical impedance scale 3 times. I just couldn’t believe it. Typically I can expect to shed 1 to maybe 1.5 pounds of fat per week so this just blew my mind.

This was all with very little activity as well. I took the entire week off from the gym and just went on a few brisk walks.

The best part… I didn’t feel deprived at all. In fact I feel so incredibly frickin awesome I can’t even put it into words.

Here’s the picture that I took last night after consuming my so called reward meal of pizza and a snickers bar. K, let me tell ya. I think I’m going to have to come up with a new reward because junk food just does not seem like a reward any more.

The Fit Bastard

First of all I wasn’t even craving it and didn’t feel like I needed it. Second of all shortly after consuming it I felt lousy and sluggish. That’s the first time in over a week that I’ve felt like that.

After this detox I honestly don’t want to go near any refined crap.

Even cooler than that is I no longer feel like a slave to caffeine. I don’t need it any more and I no longer feel like I need to take a nap around 2pm. My energy is extremely high all day long.

Lets get to my picture. Some of you may be looking at it and thinking, “Hmm, I thought Scott would be more ripped than that.” Some may even think, “What the hell does a skinny guy like that have to go on a diet for… Is he mentally ill?” And some others may think, “Please buddy, shave that chest ;)

Ha! Hey man, my wifes a big fan of the Tom Selleck look from the 80’s, but I probably will shave it for the after pictures unless there’s a huge public outcry ;)

Let me give you a bit of background on myself because really, I’m not all that different from you.

I grew up with a very athletic background and have been skinny most of my life. In fact just 8 years ago I only weighed 123 pounds. Ya, that’s skinny baby. I’m 32 years old right now by the way. I finally came across the right information to help me build muscle. Up until that point I was just getting it from magazines which was pretty much useless.

So I was able to put on 30 pounds of nearly all muscle in 1 year (naturally) and keeping my body fat under 7%. The next year I put on another 30 pounds but found that it slowed me down on the ice for hockey.

Then my son was born and life got crazy. I opened a health club, worked 16 hour days and came home and worked. My daughter was born and I had to put even more time in the health club and I had totally lost interest in fitness. I was burnt out and totally depressed. I had put on 30 pounds of fat, lost a lot of muscle and felt like a giant slob.

The day that I got out of the health club business was the greatest day of my life and everything has been totally awesome since and I regained my passion for fitness. Actually the passion has grown and grown.

Over a year ago when I wrote The Fit Chic and The Fit Bastard, I basically locked myself in the basement and lived off of Snickers bars and energy drinks in order to meet a deadline. Ya, go figure, I gained 15 pounds while writing a fitness book. That’ll never happen again!

My life is much more balanced now and having health as my number one priority totally makes everything else fall into place.

What is my driving force behind following the Every Other Day Diet Plan?

YOU!

Seriously. I see how pictures of role models can totally inspire people and I want to be a huge role model for you. And My wife is doing it so she can be a role model for women. Honestly, you mean the world to me and I want to be the very best that I can in order to help you accomplish your dreams.

I want you to realize that I’m not just some guy behind a computer that’s trying to sell you every stinking fat loss book written by Tom, Dick, and Harry. Anything that I’ve ever recommended to you, I’ve tried and tested on myself. I’m a human guinea pig, what can I say ;)

I truly care about you and when I find something that I believe will actually change your body and your life I want you to know about it.

Yes, this is my business, and yes I put countless hours into it every day, and yes I do expect to earn some money for all my hard work and research. But it’s not at your expense. It’s for your benefit.

I want to provide you with the short cuts that I didn’t have access to. I want to save you as much wasted time on trial and error and wasted money on products that don’t work. I’m not going to push supplements and quick fixes on you. I just want to provide you with the best possible solutions.

Is the Every Other Day Diet Plan the best possible solution? I believe it is. There’s other programs that are totally awesome as well, but I just feel that this one will best suit so many different lifestyles and I know that it’s something that you can stick with.

And so far I’ve got the results to prove it!

The Every Other Day Diet certainly has loads of incredible scientifically proven research to back it up, but what I really care about is the real world results. Will it actually work for me. Well 4.5 pounds of fat loss in one week is certainly extraordinary!

Get this… I really haven’t even started to Every Other Day Diet System until today. The detox was just an introductory for the first 7 days. Today I started the Every Other Day Diet Extreme Plan and Angie started the Every Other Day Diet Lifestyle Plan. I’ll tell you more about them in the next post.

Seriously folks. This system is the real deal. Of course you actually have to apply the information, but it couldn’t be easier to follow.

In my quest to be the best role model for you, I’ve got to become the best that I can be. I may have some abdominal definition, but I’ve still got to lose the lower ab flab and honestly I want eye popping abs and definition galore. That’s going to leave me pretty skinny and you don’t just want a skinny role model. You want someone looking their absolute best.

So once I achieve my fat loss goals, I will continue to follow the Every Other Day Diet Extreme Plan, but with an increase in calories so I can pack on some muscle.

I will be taking pictures every week, providing you with measurements, and sharing some video of my journey.

I hope that during this process you get to know me better and that I earn more trust from you. Don’t be afraid to shoot me some questions and comments here in the blog posts. I’ll answer them the best that I can without giving away all the details of The Every Other Day Diet Program.

After all Jon and Jan invested a lot of time, effort, and research into creating a program that would transform your body and change your life. They deserve to be rewarded for that.

Thank you so much for reading through this long post. I hope that it has given you a better understanding of me and that you realize we really aren’t all that different. What ever results that I can achieve, there is absolutely no reason why couldn’t achieve them yourself.

You deserve the absolute best. Let the best in you shine so the world can see it.

Have an absolutely amazing day!

Every Other Day Diet Journal-Day-7-Final Detox Day

Whooo hoooo! I’m nearly finished the final day of the Every Other Day Diet Detox plan and gearing up for the Every Other Day Diet Extreme Plan while my wife Angie is gearing up for the Every Other Day Diet Lifestyle Plan. Tomorrow I will share some stats with you about the progress that I’ve made, along with a photo to show where I am starting off at as I enter into this fat loss journey.

The Every Other Day Diet
So let me sum up how the past 7 days have gone… EASY! Honestly, I never expected it to be this easy and at no point at all was I counting down the days to when I would complete this detox phase.

I have followed much harsher cleanses before where I needed to take liquid drops, herbs, and was very restrictive in what I had to eat. I’ve also done a juicing cleanse before and hated it.

I know that Jon has suggested a more harsh cleanse in one of his other books, but this cleanse fits right into the Every Other Day Diet simplicity factor.

If you are thinking of doing a cleanse you couldn’t get much simpler than this and to be absolutely honest I’m experiencing better overall results with this as well as no real side effects.

For the most part I was just eating a whole bunch of vegetables and fruit. I was able to add in some protein by the end which was really nice.

I also avoided dairy and carbohydrates and caffeine. Typically I don’t really consume much dairy as I find that it bloats me, but I do love my carbs… well at least I used to.

I am amazed at how I no longer crave carbs such as breads and pastas. I am looking forward to having some oatmeal or sweet potatoes prior to and after my workouts though. That will start Thursday.

Today I experienced total clarity and overwhelming energy. I didn’t even hit the afternoon 2pm energy dive, which is usually the time when I go to the gym to pick up my energy levels and that works every time!

Since I feel so great without dairy and much of the starchy carbs i am going to keep them to a minimum and just consume them around my workout time. I will replace the other meals that I would have added carbs to with extra vegetables (which are carbs by the way ;) ).

I will keep the coffee to a minimum as well since I no longer feel like I need it. Maybe just on those cold days ;)

My plans for tomorrow are to eat natural foods throughout the day and I will reward myself with some pizza and a chocolate bar.

I will begin the Every Other Day Diet Extreme Plan and Angie will start the Every Other Day Diet Lifestyle Plan on Thursday.

I will be following the Fit Bastard fat burning phase from The Fit Bastard Year of Workouts and Angie will be following The Fit Chic fat burning phase from the Fit Chic Year Of Workouts.

Every Other Day Diet Journal-Day-6-Detox

I have now completed 6 days of the Every Other Day Diet detox phase. Never did I imagine that it would be this easy. Just one day remaining and tomorrow’s meals will be just like today which was a total breeze as I’m transitioning into the Every Other Day Diet Extreme Plan and my wife Angie will be transitioning into the Every Other Day Diet Lifestyle Plan.

My activity level has not been very high in the past week while on the Every Other Day Diet Detox plan. I went for a few brisk walks and there were a couple days where I spent a few hours moving flagstone around in the back yard as I’m building my little private serenity garden there.

The Every Other Day Diet
I will be starting my workout routine on Thursday and I have my month of workouts planned in advance. I’ll let you know the routine that I’m doing on Thursday.

As I’ve mentioned before The Every Other Day Diet really reduces the stress of dieting which is absolutely tremendous. When you are stressed out on a diet plan in addition to any other stresses that are going on in your life, it is going to be almost impossible to lose fat.

Another benefit of the every other day diet is that it keeps your hormones in check and in the optimal state for fat burning.

And one of the huge benefits of The Every Other Day Diet is that it trains your body to burn fat rather than sugar or carbs. This is very important because even though you want to burn the carbs what we are really after is burning that stored fat.

After tomorrow I will post my results in terms of weight loss after this week of detox. The benefits are tremendous already with the increase in energy, feeling lighter, and the elimination of craving carbs such as breads, pastas, and the simple sugars found in junk food.

The elimination of cravings is the biggest and most important change that I’ve experienced.

If completing this 7 day detox has been this simple, I’m pretty darn sure that I will have no problem following the Every Other Day Diet Extreme Plan.

I’m off to get a good night sleep and I’m anticipating tomorrow with great enthusiasm.

Have an absolutely amazing day!

Every Other Day Diet Journal-Day-5-Detox

I’m wrapping up day 5 of the Every Other Day Diet detox phase. Oh where, oh where have my cravings gone, oh where, oh where could they be ;) I just had to get that in there. Seriously, I’m totally cravings free right now and this is freakin amazing.

Actually, I shouldn’t say cravings free, because I’m totally craving veggies right now which in my opinion is totally insane. This is exactly what happened to me when I first began eating oatmeal, sweet potatoes, and Udo’s oil blend many years ago. Those were all foods that I found very bland and I just didn’t enjoy them. After a few days I became addicted to them.

The Every Other Day Diet

What I’ve found when you begin eating well and you experience increased energy, you feel lighter, and absolutely incredible… you want more of that! It’s your body’s response to consuming great fool, much like your body responds to eating junk.

You know that feeling after eating junk food… Sluggish, guilty, bloated.

So as tough as it may seem to eat well at first, the rewards come quick and they come big!

The increased protein over the past 2 days has really helped and I’m looking forward to more of it tomorrow.

The next 2 days of the plan allows me to transition into the Every Other Day Diet Extreme Plan or Lifestyle Plan that Angie is going to be following. At lunch we will be able to eat a normal meal consisting of natural foods and I will be allowed protein all day long… Whooo hooo!

I’m more pumped than ever to get started on the official plan. I will be posting pictures and video of my journey and look forward to sharing my adventure with you every step of the way.

Many of you are following the Every Other Day Diet Plan as well and I’d love to hear how it’s going for you. Please feel free to leave your comments and questions here.

Every Other Day Diet Journal-Day-4-Detox

I can’t believe that I’ve nearly completed 4 days of the 7 day detox as part of the introductory to the Every Other Day Diet system. Things are rolling along smoother than I thought even though I’ve been faced with countless temptations today. I walked into a donut shop with a friend today and they said, “I can’t believe your willpower. Let me tell you, this has nothing to do with willpower.

If you every get a chance to document your fat loss journey, I highly recommend it. Since deciding to make my journey public I’ve had a whole new respect for accountability. I like to think that many of you rely on me for expert advice and that you value my opinion. I want to do everything in my power to provide you with the best solutions to fit into your lifestyle.

Every Other Day Diet
Will power is very temporary. My reasons for going on The Every Other Day Diet Plan are quite powerful and mean much more to me than any donut that could have been shoved in my face. The smell of hot chocolate didn’t even phase me.

Back to how the diet is going. Well the pleasures of protein were every thing that I was expecting them to be. I really did miss that grilled chicken breast. Mmmm mmm mmm.

Surprisingly I do not crave the starchy carbs like I thought I would. The first day was the toughest. I eat oatmeal for breakfast and a sweet potato at lunch every day and I really thought it would be tougher to go without them.

Honestly I am craving more and more vegetables than I ever have before which is an excellent thing. I always get in the necessary amounts, but have wanted to increase those amounts a bit. Now I know I can.

I’m really looking forward to getting started with the official Every Other Day Diet Plan. This is the only restrictive part of the system and really it’s not all that restrictive. Normally I’m counting down the days to the end of a detox. This is the total opposite. I just can’t get over how fast the time is flying.

Tomorrow will be much like today in terms of eating so I’m assuming that I will be cravings free and full of even more energy.

Every Other Day Diet Journal-Day-3-Detox

Day 3 of the Every Other Day Diet detox phase is almost over and I am feeling like I can take on the world! Not only am I not experiencing any side effects, my energy has frickin shot through the roof. Plus I have had absolutely no food cravings at all today.

Angie baked some whole wheat raisin muffins for the kids and it didn’t even phase me. I was with a friend today and they were eating a chocolate bar (my weakness is chocolate) and I was not tempted at all.

The Every Other Day Diet
The first 2 days I was really missing protein, but today I haven’t really given it much thought. I am however looking forward to introducing it back into my later meals tomorrow.

Typically when I’ve followed a detox the third day is killer for me and once I get past that my energy usually explodes. This time it has skyrocketed on the third day. The big difference is that on the Every Other Day Diet 7-Day Detox Plan I really never crashed like I have on other detoxes. There’s been times before when I’ve had to take days off work because I just couldn’t function. That didn’t happen this time.

Just to let you know, as I complete the detox phase and get ready to enter Jon’s Every Other Day Diet Extreme Plan, I will give you my goals and intentions. I don’t plan on releasing a lot of fat. Actually I only plan on using the Every Other Day Diet Extreme Plan for 8 weeks for fat loss and then I will use the same plan but with increased amounts of the same foods in order to build muscle.

I talked to Jon about being able to build muscle on the Every Other Day Diet Plan and he agreed that increasing the calories by simply adding more of the same foods and following the same plan would be excellent for muscle building.

That’s good to know because it truly means that this is a lifestyle plan that I could adapt to all phases of my life and training.

If you haven’t listened to the interview that I did with Jon covering some very important information on why most diets actually make you fat and why managing your stress and applying a stress free way of eating is crucial to your hormone balance and your ability to burn fat then you must take some time to listen by following this link:

Every Other Day Diet Interview

One cool tip that I would like to mention is about how I’ve made my salads tasty without adding dressing. I normally use very little dressing on my salads to begin with, but on this detox there’s absolutely no dressing aloud. The solution that Jon and Jan recommended was squeezing lemon on your salad and adding a pinch of sea salt.

Whoa baby! Let me tell ya, I squeezed half a lemon on my salad and added that pinch of sea salt and I believe I’m hooked. My taste buds were dancing.

I’m going to leave you with a great piece of advice from Jon Benson; “Dedication to the goal is more important than dedication to the plan.”

In other words, be absolutely 100% committed to the goal that you are trying to achieve and the reasons why you want to achieve that goal, along with how your life is going to change once you achieve it.

Plans come and go, but your dream and vision is alway true. Dedicate yourself to being the best that you can be and never let go of that.
