In todays Daily 6 Pack Abs Couple-Cast “There’s A Solution Thursday”, we provide a solution to one of the most common questions that we receive daily… “What is more effective for fat loss, HIIT or long duration cardio?” Listen to our recommendation and share your thoughts and opinions on whether high intensity interval training is most effective or long duration cardio when it comes to fat loss and achieving 6 pack abs.
What’s Better For Fat Loss, HIIT or Long Duration Cardio?
So what do we recommend…
First of all I believe what’s leading to the mass confusion is the fact that many fat loss experts are saying that you should stop long duration cardio all together because it’s a waste of time.
This is marketing hype! Why? Because their programs are based on strictly HIIT training and they are playing on the fact that most of us don’t have a lot of free time in our day.
In reality there is very little research to prove that HIIT training is more effective than long duration.
You’ve got to do what you love. If you can’t stand long duration cardio chances are you won’t stick to it. If you dread HIIT training, it makes you feel tired and sore, then chances are you won’t stick with that either.
Do you love riding the bike, jogging, walking. Is this something that you would stick to for the long term as it ‘becomes’ a part of who you are?
It’s all about compliance. If you hate something, you are going to have a more difficult time sticking to it.
We find what has worked best for us is to incorporate both HIIT and long duration cardio into our program. This makes it fun and adds variety to our program. We don’t get bored of either of them because we are mixing things up.
What’s your opinion on HIIT and long duration cardio? Please share your thoughts and opinions below. Your input means the world to us.
Are you overwhelmed and confused when it comes to high intensity interval training and long duration cardio?

I have to admit, the above makes sense to me! I’ve got foot problems, while I enjoy HIIT on my Nordic Track because it’s quick and not boring, it’s not always an option, depending on how my feet are doing. Long cardio sessions in the pool ARE possible for me. So now I don’t feel so bad about that!
