In today’s 6 Pack Abs Couple-Cast we are going to teach you a great exercise that will help correct any muscle imbalances between your inner and outer thighs or muscle imbalances between your quadriceps and hamstrings. In addition to these benefits, this exercise also works the core of your body and your butt. Give it a try and let us know what you think…

Stability Ball Kneel

How To Perform The Movement

  • For beginners you will want to have a table or chair in front of you to hold on to while you get the hang of the movement and gain your balance.
  • Once you are comfortable try letting go and keep your hands close to the chair so you can grab on if you lose your balance.
  • When you start to lose your balance try to avoid grabbing on to the chair right away. Use your opposing muscles to bring you back to the center point.
  • Why This Exercise Is So Effective At Correcting Muscle Imbalances…

Lets say that you find yourself constantly drifting to right side. This is a good indicator that your right hip flexor muscles and your left inner thigh muscles are stronger than the opposing muscles.

What happens is your opposing muscles (the left hip flexor and right inner thigh muscles have to work harder to bring you back to the center point. The more often you are on the ball, the more work those weaker muscles are going to receive and eventually will equal out to the same strength as the stronger muscles.

Now lets say you find yourself drifting more to the front, which is most common. This is a good indicator that your quadriceps are stronger than your hamstrings because they are dominating the movement. Your hamstrings then have to work harder to pull yourself back to the starting point.
