The most frequently asked questions that I receive about fat loss revolve around lack of motivation. The thought of a hot new diet or workout program can be more enticing, but the bottom line is… if you can’t stick with the program it’s not any good to you no matter how effective it is.

Scott: You talk about merely existing. Now when you see other people in the health club where they are just going in and they are not putting the effort into it. They are just going through the motions. Going through the movements. So, this type of mentality, this sort of not giving it your all, is one of those things that is holding them back Wouldn’t you say?

Zach: It is, and you know, with anything you do you might as well go for the best, the absolute best with it. There is no sense for me to go 80 percent of what I could do, or half of what I could do. It is a big reason why I do not train at gyms now because the atmosphere is for the most part pretty negative. I am generalizing, I know that.

Every Other Day Diet Journal

My wife Angie and I have read through the Every Other Day Diet program by Jon Benson and Janis Hauser and we are ready to take action on the incredible advice and strategies they teach. We are about to do something that neither of us has done before and that is document and record our journey and make it public for everyone to see.

Every Other Day Diet

Note: There’s an information packed audio with Jon Benson at the end of this post that I highly recommend you listen to. It could very well be the best thing that you do for yourself today, this week, or this month.

Today is our very first day and we are opting to go through the 7 day-EODD (that’s short for Every Other Day Diet) Detox Plan which isn’t a mandatory part of the program but it definitely gives things a great kick start and that’s exactly what many of you are looking for.

12 hours into the day and so far we have both survived. This detox plan does not involve going without food or ingesting harsh foods or supplements. It appears to be very easy to follow…

but what else do you expect for a diet program that is coined, “The easiest diet on Earth“?

Before I get into our journey I would like to give just a bit of my insight into the program. First of all I have read countless diet books, I’ve been on to many different diets to count, I’ve observed hundreds of people on some of the most outrageous diets I’ve ever heard of.

Not to mention that this is an area that I have studied thoroughly in my University education and I continue to study every week. So I’ve got a pretty darn good idea of what nutrition plans work and what ones are a bunch of crap.

I never thought that I would be able to say this but this is actually a diet that you can stick to for life and it doesn’t matter what state you are currently in. If you are an absolute beginner you will have tremendous success. If you have tried many diets before and you have pretty good eating habits right now but you want to take it to the next level you will have tremendous success. And even if you are an elite athlete you will experience great success with this program.

That’s because Jon and Jan have created 3 different levels to choose from. Jon goes into detail about these levels in the Mp3 audio interview which you can listen to at the end of this post.

The Primer Plan is for the beginner and basically every other day you can eat the foods that you enjoy.

The Lifestyle Plan is for the person who just completed a couple months on the Primer or someone who has pretty decent eating habits to begin with.

The EODD Extreme Plan is for people who have developed really good eating habits and want to get completely shredded.

My wife Angie is going to follow the Lifestyle Plan and I will be following Jon’s EODD Extreme Plan. So not only are you going to get a perspective from a male and female, but you are also going to get a perspective from 2 of the different plans included in The Every Other Day Diet.

Here’s the thing that I dig the most about the program… NO STRESS!

With most diets that I’ve had to follow I’ve had to count calories, weigh my food, eat at certain times of the day, and I really was never certain of how much I should be eating of each food.

The Every Other Day Diet system reduces the stress of dieting by…

Providing me with a grocery list of foods that I will need

Providing me with many recipes to choose from

Showing me what a serving size should be using some excellent illustrations

And you know that even if today may be a challenge, tomorrow you get to eat some foods that you enjoy.

Jon told me the reason that everything is laid out so nicely for us is all Jan’s doing because she is an incredibly busy mom that needs this to be easy for herself. So she can totally relate to what you are going through and she’s provided you with great solutions.

Now here’s the thing that really excites me about the program and I expected nothing less from Jon…

It’s the amazing mindset and motivational component of the program. I’ve read Jon’s other book Fit Over 40 and listened to his audio program M-Power Series and both of those products include an incredible amount of life changing information that deals with breaking down the barriers that have been holding you back and empowering yourself to excel at achieving your goals.

Plus I interviewed Jon for my product Unstoppable Fat Loss and I thought that I had gotten pretty much all the absolutely amazing mindset information that he could dish out.

To my surprise, I learned some incredible skills and strategies that will help you overcome emotional eating and get you on track to building a healthy relationship with food.

It was really great to get a male and female perspective on the many issues that face us when it comes to emotions and food. I think that this was one of the things that really add to the effectiveness of the Every Other Day Diet System.

You hear the challenges that faced both Jan and Jon and how they both went from obese to cover model physiques. It just makes this entire process real and adds that human element. You can tell that they totally relate to you and what you are going through and they want to take the burden and stress off of you.

As a fitness and health professional I fully endorse The Every Other Day Diet! This is just based on reading through the book thoroughly and seeing the scientific research that the program is based on and without a doubt observing how this way of eating can be kept up for life by anyone.

But now comes the real test. Angie and I are using ourselves as guinea pigs to see the real power of the system. I love using myself as a guinea pig and sharing my results with you, but never before have I documented them in the detail that I will now.
