Day 4 – Detox Program

Hello, I cannot believe that I am already on day 4! It’s really going by fast. I feel more lean already and I’m sure that I have a bit of fat loss! I was able to have protein today at my afternoon meals:) This was great. I thoroughly enjoyed my eggs and chicken at my later meal.

After my protein I felt energized enough to do a leg workout! So I did…it felt so good to workout again. I am still on the 8 sets of 8 from the Fit Chic Year of Workouts program. It is not recommended that you work out while doing a detox but I felt strong enough and knew how much I could push myself. I did feel more fatigued than I normally would. My legs were also really wobbley afterwards. However, I ate some more chicken and veggies afterward and really stretched. It was all worth it!
My real challenge today was keeping my hands off of the cookies! My son really wanted me to bake some sugar cookies today. So, here I am baking sugar cookies, which are my favourite, and I’m on a detox! Why do I do these things?! Insane. It did help to see that Scott, too, was avoiding them. They really are one of my favourite cookies…I just kept telling myself that we are getting on photos done on April 2.
I really want to feel that I put my best effort forward in this journey. I’ve never challenged myself like this before- to lose body fat, that is. I guess I feel that one of my biggest motivators is to be able to say in the end that I didn’t ‘cheat myself’ I want to be able to truthfully admit that I put my best effort into getting in the best shape that I can by April 2. This way when the day comes I will not feel any guilt.
I am going to put those cookies out of sight now and just chew my gum!
P.S. I have already put my own ’stash’ away in the freezer to enjoy on my cheat days…:)
