Time for my Every Other Day Diet progress report. After 4 weeks total on the Every Other Day Diet Plan this is the first time that I’ve gone a few days without reporting into you and it has totally had an impact on my success with the program. I’ve learned a lot in the past few days and I’m incredibly excited to share my insights with you.
The Fit Bastard
The last time that I posted my daily journal I mentioned that I had been eating some chocolate every couple of days which really isn’t allowed for the Every Other Day Diet Extreme Plan, but is acceptable for the Every Other Day Diet Lifestyle Plan. Well for the past few days since I haven’t been posting my progress I’ve been sneaking a few mini chocolate bars pretty much daily and it’s been at the end of the day. During the daytime I’ve been great, but at night I’ve been looking for those mini chocolate bars. I have however still managed to burn nearly a pound of fat from my body this week, which is pretty darn cool.

I’ve come to several conclusions for this. First of all the reason that I haven’t been posting my progress the past few days has nothing to do with my junk food eating. A huge reason why I’m reporting my progress… good or bad, is because of the accountability factor and I’ve got to be 100% honest with you if I want to truly hold myself accountable.

It’s actually been an incredibly busy and draining week. I’ve had some very time sensitive work that all needed to get done this week in addition to my regular work. The great news is that I didn’t miss a workout and I did a few sessions of High Intensity Interval Training on my stationary bike.

So mistake #1 that I learned from and it’s something that I already knew, was do not for any reason have chocolate in the house. It’s my only weakness and if it’s here I will seek it out. If there isn’t any in the house I honestly don’t even think about it. The good news is that the kids don’t have any more chocolate left over from Halloween. The only chocolate that is in the house is from the box of mini chocolate bars that Angie bought on sale after Halloween. Her intentions were great for her. She bought them and is using them for her reward after a couple days of healthy eating. She has better control when it comes to chocolate in the house than I do.

Mistake #2 is just what I was talking about the other day. I see great results that I’ve achieved so far and I’m very happy with the way that I look even though I want to look better. I just figure that I’m making incredible progress and a few mini chocolate bars are not going to do any harm.

I’ve come to an incredible conclusion as to why I’ve been thinking this way and it’s something that I should have been aware of right from the start. I’ll share it with you in a moment, but first let me share my next mistake with you.

Mistake #3 that I learned from and this is a lesson that you can all learn from because it’s absolutely HUGE! I’ve been following what I believe to be one of the best, if not the best nutrition system that I’ve ever used. My mistake…
The Every Other Day Diet
…thinking that the best diet in the world combined with my highly effective and time efficient workouts in The Fit Bastard and The Fit Chic Year Of Workouts is enough to develop my dream body.

That’s right! The best diet and most effective workout programs are never enough to achieve your dream body. During this past week when I was extremely busy, I was relying on the diet program and my workouts to carry me through. The great thing is that the Every Other Day Diet has a serious mindset component. When I realized that I wasn’t going after my goals with 100% of my effort, I spent some time reading through the mindset component of the book.

I had allowed myself to get distracted from what really mattered to me. It was time to get it back. When ever I lose sight of why I’m striving for optimal health and simply becoming the best that I can be I go back to my most trusted resource…

The 21 inspiring and motivating audios contained in Unstoppable Fat Loss. This was the exact moment and reason for why I created this life changing program. I created it because I knew from the past 12 years of research and study in the field of sport psychology, that no matter how great a nutrition or workout program may be, you will never reach your full potential without spending just as much time on EMPOWERING YOUR MIND!

Since creating the Unstoppable Fat Loss program, I’ve listened to all 21 interviews dozens of times and continue to pull golden nuggets of life changing information from them each and every time.

I practice what I preach pretty much daily. I’ve got my vision pictures all over the place and I record everything that I do in my journal. But I hadn’t been doing that this week because I’ve been ‘too busy’.

So I started off listening to the Unstoppable Fat Loss interview that I did with Jon Benson. You can listen to a clip from it here: Unstoppable Fat Loss Interview Clip with Jon Benson

This interview really made me dig deep into the reasons WHY I am going after my dream body and what my actual goal is. My goals are much bigger than I had written down at the beginning of this Every Other Day Diet journey. If you want to read what I had originally written down you can check it out here: http://unstoppable-fatloss.com/blog/eodd-results/

I mentioned earlier in this post that I had come to an incredible conclusion. To my astonishment it didn’t hit me until I started listening to the Unstoppable Fat Loss interviews. I keep thinking to myself that I should have caught onto this right from the start, but I think the excitement of going on this Every Other Day Diet journey got the best of me and I rushed through my mindset prep work.

I’m sure that you have all been there. You’re so excited to tear the through book and get to the part that really matters… Just tell me what to eat and what to do. BIG MISTAKE!

The conclusion. I didn’t set a specific goal and I didn’t even give myself a deadline. I somewhat set a goal of seeing eye popping abs. In my opinion that’s a pretty darn good goal. But what exactly does that mean? It’s just not quite specific enough. I need a number to aim for and that number that I’ve included on my goal sheet is 6% body fat.

It’s so obvious to me now why I have been repeating to myself, “I’m looking pretty good and getting good results, I can sneak a mini chocolate bar or two.” There’s been no sense of urgency. I have no deadline. Not to mention that I was associating more pleasure with those mini chocolate bars than the pleasure of achieving my dream body.

Simply saying that I want to achieve 6% body fat and have eye popping abs is not enough. You may have heard this quote before, “A goal without a deadline is just a dream.” Basically, without setting a deadline I have given myself permission to take the rest of my life in order to achieve that goal.

So my date to achieve 6% body fat is January 4th. That’s when I’m going on a Caribbean Cruise with my family and business mentors; Deb and J.P. Micek, Mike Filsaime, Tom Beal, Donna Fox, and Paulie Sabol, along with some other great friends Simon Leung, Bob Jenkins, and more.

I want to look my absolute best on this cruise and I have the intention of shooting some workout videos while I’m there. So this is part of my reason why. But like Jon says in the Unstoppable Fat Loss audio, losing weight for a high school reunion is not a strong enough goal.

Like I mentioned in my other post the reason why I was embarking on this fat loss journey was YOU! I want to be the best role model that I possibly can for you. This really does fire me up inside because it’s totally why I do the work that I do. It’s to make the biggest impact on the world that I possibly can when it comes to health and wellness.

But, I still need even more powerful reasons why I want to embark on this truly never ending journey because it certainly won’t end once I achieve 6% body fat on January 4th 2008.

To me, when I look at pictures of my role models like Jon Benson and Tom Venuto there’s that instant credibility. They’ve done it themselves, they must know what the heck they are doing… and they absolutely do! I see their bodies and I aspire to be like them.

I want to see my picture on the cover of all my products and on all my websites so anyone who sees me for the first time will have the same kind of thoughts about me as I did towards Tom and Jon.

I’ve had the opportunity to build a relationship and trust with you over time, but for someone who comes to my websites for the first time I would like to have some instant credibility like that. Even though I’m incredibly knowledgeable in regards to nutrition, fitness, and without a doubt the field of sport psychology and motivation through all my years of schooling, study, research, and experience, having a ripped body carries even more credibility.

And since my job requires earning the trust of the people who come across my site, I need to do everything that I can in order to gain that trust. After all, my family is relying on me to be as successful as I possibly can in order to provide them with the life that they deserve.

I keep picturing myself in my dream body on the cover of my products and it excites the heck out of me.

I also listened to the Unstoppable Fat Loss Interview that I did with Rob Kottenbrock, an incredible guy who discovered just how powerful mindset is when it comes to achieving your dream body. He should know. He struggled most of his life with a weight problem and then applied these amazing strategies to burn 120 pounds from his body.

This interview inspired the heck out of me because Rob is so incredibly creative at bombarding his mind with his goals and finding ways to motivate himself on a daily basis. I’ve learned a lot from Rob. He’s applied some awesome accountability tactics to keep himself on track and it really got me fired up and wanting to do everything that I can to hold myself accountable. This blog is certainly a great way to do that, but I need to maximize it.

So now that I know what my goal is and why I want to do it, it’s now time to determine what’s the cost of achieving my dream body?

I’ve already got my workout plan set out for the next year from The Fit Bastard’s Year Of Workouts and I’ve got the nutrition plan to follow in the Every Other Day Diet. It’s now time to do 2 of the most powerful things that will drive me towards fat loss success.

The first thing is what I’ve typically been great at in the past and that is writing my goal and how my life will change once I achieve that goal into my journal twice each day. Taking 10 minutes first thing in the morning and 10 minutes right before I go to bed to write all of this out will have a tremendous impact on achieving my goal. More than you can ever imagine.

Here’s a video of how I set up my journal:

This will keep my goal and my reasons why I’m doing it at the top of my mind. It’s something that I’ve lost site of this week.

Now for the 2nd most powerful thing that I can do in order to achieve my dream body. Social Support. First of all, I am calling upon support from Angie, which I believe is the best social support that I can receive since we see so much of each other.

The other form of social support that I am going to call upon is over at Tom Venuto’s Burn The Fat Inner Circle. I will announce my goal to everyone in that amazing community. The support that I will receive there is absolutely priceless.

If you would like to experience how powerful a supportive community of like-minded people can be for you and drive you towards fat loss success, Tom has allowed me to grant you a 1 month trial membership to the Burn The Fat Inner Circle for just $1.

That $1 you spend has the potential to change your life. If this is something that interests you simply visit…

Now it’s time for me to hold myself completely accountable to you. Every Friday I will post a picture of myself as well as a video to share my progress on this Every Other Day Diet journey. This is something that I’m 100% committed to because I know how powerful it will be for me.

I’ll also post some video clips of the workouts that Angie and I do. That should be exciting.

It’s time that I stop relying just on diet and exercise alone and apply all the knowledge that I have in regards to developing a powerful mindset.

This entire experience has really got me thinking. I’ve been reading all of your emails and comments on my blog and your support has been amazing. I would like to reward you all for following me on this journey.

But even more than rewarding you, I want to help give you that edge when it comes to your fat loss goals. Many of you have joined me on this journey and are following the Every Other Day Diet along with me. That excites me because I am completely certain that you have one heck of a powerful nutrition tool to help you achieve your goals.

Many of you are following either The Fit Chic Year Of Workouts or The Fit Bastard Year Of Workouts and those programs combined with the Every Other Day Diet are a wicked one-two punch.

But again I want to give you that edge that separates the people who continue to struggle to achieve fat loss success from those who are living in or soon to be living in their dream body.

Now I can’t give you all 21 interviews that are contained in Unstoppable Fat Loss, but I would like to give you the gift of one of the interviews. To show you just how much I appreciate each and everyone of you, I am giving you the Unstoppable Fat Loss interview with Dax Moy. The mp3 audio and the transcript.

This interview lasted nearly 2 hours and in itself is enough to change your body and your life. Unfortunately it doesn’t quite compare to the full impact that you would receive from listening to all 21 interviews, but it’s enough to give you that edge and drive you closer to your dream body.
