Every Other Day Diet Extreme Plan Journal-Day 16

My metabolism is totally cranked up today after 16 days on the Every Other Day Diet Extreme Plan. It’s absolutely amazing how I swear I can feel the belly fat melting off my stomach. I’ve got this warm feeling in my stomach and I know it’s not in my head. I can only assume that it’s my metabolic furnace cranking up the temperature and turning me into a fat burning machine.

I loaded up on vegetables once again today. My choice of protein was tuna in 2 of my salads. I also had 3 whole eggs with mixed vegetables during another meal. This new found love for vegetables has triggered thoughts in my mind today just wondering how different my life would have been if I ditched the refined man made crap years ago. Mind you, I really don’t eat that much refined junk to begin with, but eliminating that little bit that I did consume has made a world of difference in my life.
I wonder if it would have helped me battle through fatigue and depression when I was working myself to death as a gym owner. I wonder if it would have given me more energy to play with my kids when they were cute and cuddly babies. I wonder how much more productive I would have been with my career all these years. I wonder how many years I would have added onto my life.
This was just a moment of pondering. I never dwell on the past. The future is just so darn exciting for me. But it gave me the opportunity to put things into perspective and truly realize the huge benefits that I have now added into my life and how it’s effecting my family life and relationship with my friends as well as career.

This natural fuel that I am pumping into my body has definitely added to the quality of my workouts. I am so energized and excited to hit the gym to use up this limitless supply of high octane fuel in my body.
Todays workout was outstanding. In and out of the gym in 18 minutes, completely soaked and heart pounding. Who else can experience this feeling from a chest and triceps workout? Most people don’t experience this on the cardio machines.
Today was the start of the third week of The Fit Bastard Year Of Workouts Fat Burning Phase. It was time to work chest and tri’s. It’s very important to always progress in your workouts. There are times when it’s great to increase the weight in order to make progress. But when I’m in my fat burning phases I prefer to decrease the rest time between sets. This week I’ve cut down my rest periods to 20 seconds. Did I ever feel the burn and pump today. My body felt like it was on fire.
I have no problem checking my ego at the door. Most of the guys in the gym are concerned with what everyone else is thinking about the amount of weight that they’re lifting. I could care less. All I’m concerned about is how great I look.
I was speaking with a friend today who has struggled to lose weight recently. He is very active but eats like the food supply is going to vanish tomorrow. He automatically assumed that he is struggling because of a thyroid problem. He’s never even been diagnosed with a thyroid issue. I’m not sure why there is a large population of people who make this assumption when they are struggling with losing weight.
This got me into a discussion with him about the Every Other Day Diet and how it keeps your hormones, metabolism, and thyroid in check. You see this friend is a chronic dieter. He’s tried everything, and he has had success in the short term. Most of the time he starves himself for extended periods of time.
Through my studies I have learned that metabolism can slow down a bit when you go on extended periods of severe calorie reduction. This isn’t so harsh when you are very overweight, but if you are continually trying to starve off those last 10 pounds of unwanted body fat, chances are that you will experience some metabolic slow down.
What I didn’t realize until I read the Every Other Day Diet is how extended periods of calorie restriction can impact your thyroid by decreasing the thyroid hormone T4 which is responsible for producing active thyroid T3. This will reduce your efficiency for burning fat.
This is where the Every Other Day Diet Plan excels. On this plan you never decrease your calories for extended periods of time. This keeps your hormones in check and in my opinion, makes it a whole lot easier to stick to.
I know how tempting it is to crash diet especially if there’s a big event coming up that you want to look your best for. I encourage you to take the smart approach and not damage your body in the process. Trust me, it’s worth it. And you would be amazed that you will actually achieve your dream body sooner when you take the smart approach.
