Today was even better than yesterday while following the Every Other Day Diet. I’m on day 2 of the 7-day detox phase. When I’ve tried other detox programs before this is when the negative symptoms really hit me. On this plan I’m not experiencing much of the typical side effects at all.

The Every Other Day Diet
No headache or fatigue. Actually my energy is starting to pick up a bit. I still miss my oatmeal in the morning and sweet potatoes for lunch as well as protein… boy I can’t wait to eat some protein. It’s 1 more day before I can have some so that definitely makes it easier. I know that I can do anything for just a couple days. It’s going without something for 10-12 days that freaks me out.

My kids Shayne and Noelle had chicken at dinner today and it looked oh so good. Our weather has cooled down quite a bit today and this would definitely be one of those Autumn days where I would have a nice warm hot chocolate. I thought about it for a bit, but all in all I’m pretty satisfied with what I’m eating.

My energy is pretty darn good, but I didn’t want to push it. So the only activity that I did today was a nice brisk walk. That’s my plan for tomorrow too. It’s kind of nice to take a break from the gym anyhow.

I thought that I would be a lot more hungry eating only fruit and vegetables, but Jon and Jan teach you to listen to your body and get in tune with the urges and hunger pangs that you may feel. So instead of following a strict schedule I go with what my gut is telling me and these fruits and vegetables have really filled me up.

I think one of the reasons that I’m not experiencing many side effects of the detox is because I’m drink so much gosh darn water. I’m used to getting in 10 to 12 cups per day on my active days, but now I’m drinking 3 liters. I believe this is helping flush out the toxins which usually cause the headaches.

Here’s Angie’s experience from Day 2 of the Detox:

So anyway, before I babble on I just want to express how awesome that I feel, overall. It is day two now. I woke up with a slight headache. I have had my black coffee and fruit. I am feeling totally awesome right now.

No headache. Clear mind. That’s the biggest change that I feel. My mind feels clear. I’m not sure how else to describe it! I wouldn’t say that I feel that I have tons of energy but yet I feel strong? I am having a hard time describing my symptoms here!!

Okay, it’s like this combination of clarity and ‘steady’ energy flow gives me so much strength! I have been so ‘used to’ feeling swings or ups and downs in terms of fatigue/energy. Okay it is 9:20am, I will post you later!

I experienced a bit of a slump around 11:30am, but I mainly think it was because my daughter woke me up last night and I had a difficult time falling back to sleep.

I did close my eyes for about 10min. at 1pm. Then I had a big salad with lots of cut up vegetables such as peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions. I sprinkled some sea salt on it with a bit of lemon juice. Not too bad at all…I love onions so I get to have lots of flavour. This really helped my fatigue. Right now I feel a bit tired but I still feel it’s mainly because of my lack of sleep. I have no headache!
