I love doing shuffle steps because…
I would love to hear your feedback after you perform this cardio session. Did you last the entire 10 minutes? Did you require a little longer rest period? Were your thighs on fire? Were you able to stay down low?
How did you feel? Was your heart rate elevated? Did you work up a sweat?
Even more important… Was it fun?
Please take a moment to share your comments below.
You ROCK!

PS I’ll be sharing a lot more of these quick home workouts and cardio sessions with you from now on so be on the lookout.

That was quite difficult, but it sure did get my heart rate up. If I can incorporate this into my day at my computer, will it help my burn some upper body fat or will it just focus on my thighs. I seem to have more upper body fat than lower body fat and I am looking to burn that off more than make my lower body smaller. I hope that makes sense.
Thanks
Hi Alicia, yes this workout will help burn fat all over your body. There’s really no way to spot reduce, so cranking up your metabolism and burning calories with a workout like this will melt fat fairly evenly throughout your body.
Of course we all have certain problem areas that always seem to be the last place that we burn fat. That’s largely due to genetics.
Thanks for making that more clear for me. I will most definitely be working this into my day to day life to boost up my metabolism. Thanks so much for the video and I look forward to seeing some more.
I am a uphill and downhill walker 4 times a week about 7k each time. I was able to last the whole exercise with you and it did get my heart rate going and I broke a sweat too. This is a great exercise for the days I do not walk. Thank you this was great.
i didn’t think that would make me sweat but it did!
Def enjoyed working out to a video.
YOU rock Scott!
Thanks.
Hill walking is awesome Tamara. That’s a great way to work your quadriceps and hamstrings and get your heart pumping.
This cardio session will certainly compliment what you are currently doing. Keep up the awesome work!
Awesome Zed!
Quick workouts and cardio can look deceivingly easy. It’s amazing how quickly you can fry your muscles and work up a sweat while giving your heart and lungs a great workout too.
Hey Scott,
As always you are so original through the nature of solutions you come with.I have to say, with a little bit, and when I say little bit, I mean it, one can achieve so much. Your type of fat burning session are effective and very easy to follow.I guess the reason why people are still overweight is whether they have a health issue, or they just refuse to be fit when such training tools are at the reach of their fingers.
Like always
YOU ROCK SCOTT
Thanks Traian. How’s everything been with you? It’s hard to believe that it’s been nearly a year since we were sailing the Caribbean sea together and you were showing off your incredible fat loss results on the beach.
Well, I can’t complain, life is treating me well and fairly.I stopped going to the gym 6 months ago and achieved to worked out some kind of home training sequences based on many exercises you show here on the site. You know what?m It works fine.I start training Wing Chung Kung Fu and I am combining the two.In other words I am training everyday something aerob or anaerob.
The most important part and the one it looked to me as very difficult Is still under control:Nutrition.
I am on the top of my game.At the beginning I thought it won’t be doable with the rich food culture I was used to it.Now I couldn’t imagne to go back to that.Something funny, the other day I tried to have a buger with fries..My god I almost had a stomach congestion.Such a reaction from my body.My body was refusing to accept junk food.
Ha ha ha He has me under control.
Enough about me.So are you going to return on the cruise this year or what. How are the kids? Is the familly all right? How is everything, beside working ?
This reminds me of kindergarten, though it a lot more fun back then

Glad to hear it Traian. I love working out at home.
We won’t be going on the cruise this year, but have lots of other fun adventures that will create even greater memories. My family is doing great. We have a lot of fun family traditions this time of year. I’ve got some great video footage that I’ll be sharing on this blog to give you a peak into some of the fun activities that we enjoy doing as a family.
Scott,
I tried the routine after working my back this morning and it was totally awesome. My normal routine is to do HIIT on the recumbent bike for 18 minutes (2 min lo, 2 min hi, 4 cycles) after working out. Doing your ten minute workout really got me sweating, huffing and puffing. Thanks for the great tip, I will incorporate this into my routine a couple days a week.
It’s great to hear that this quick cardio session was effective for you Rick. It’s a great way to incorporate some variety into your training.
I also enjoy doing HIIT on my upright stationary bike, especially during the winter months. During the warmer months I prefer to get outdoors on my bike.
10 mins?? I didn’t even last 10 seconds! Then I burst into laughter and fell in a heap on the floor!!!
Seriously though, is there a way of building up to this in a sensible way?
Thankyou!
Good question MI. One way to modify this workout would be to reduce the amount of time that you perform the shuffle and increase the amount of time that you rest between shuffles.
You can also begin by not squatting down very far during the shuffles.
My recommendation is to keep practicing and focus on progression even if it’s just a small amount.
Thank you so much for your super speedy reply, Scott! I will try this tomorrow morning and let you know how I get on.
Kind regards
M I (Maryam)
Scott,
Do you recommend doing this every morning or could I do it on my regular cardio days i.e. instead of my regular cardio workouts? Great stuff….
Thanks
Sal
Thanks for the question Sal. I wouldn’t recommend doing this cardio session every day. I’ll be sharing a variety of cardio workouts with you so you can spice up you plan.
What type of cardio are you doing right now? Are you enjoying it? I enjoy going for bike rides and walking too. Variety is important to help make this a lifelong journey that is fun.
This is awesome! Love no equipment cardio, but they tend to get a bit same-ish. Definately going to try it.
