I have been receiving some questions from Unstoppable Fat Loss members who are a bit tight on money and looking for ways to perform their quickie home workouts without breaking the bank and spending their hard earned money on expensive fitness equipment.
In the video below I demonstrate some money saving tips that allow you to perform a great home workout.
Milk Jug Home Workout
There have been a few Unstoppable Fat Loss members who went the first 3 months of the program without investing in any fitness equipment other than a stability ball which you can pick up for under $10 at Walmart or order from Amazon.
In the video above I use two 4 liter jugs of milk to perform a variety of exercises. Each jug weighs approximately 10 pounds. The apple juice cans weigh approximately 3 pounds.
This is a great way to start off especially if you are a beginner. Ideally you want to increase the resistance that you are lifting and progress on a consistent basis. One way to progress with the milk jugs would be to add sand instead of water.
If you find that 10 pounds is too heavy for you and the 3 pound cans aren’t quite enough you could always fill the milk jugs 3/4’s of the way. Just make sure that they are even in weight if you are using the two jugs.
It’s pretty easy to be thrifty and still get in a great workout and live a healthy and active lifestyle
Has this helped you? I’d love to hear from you. Please take a moment to share your comments below.

Great video with the milk jugs.
I made a video the other day with a personal trainer that really likes exercise bands. What do you think of using bands for workouts? I honestly haven’t done any research, but he said they are easier on joints, work your core and allow you to work at more accommodating angles, rather than always working against gravity.
I’d be interested to hear your opinion.
Hi Scott,
My wife and I really enjoyed your video tips. Since saving money for our baby (along with not having hours to spend at a gym) this video, along with your other ones, is a God send !!
Keep it Up Scott, people are listening AND appreciating it and YOU man !!!
You and your tips truly ROCK !!
All the best to you and family ~

Hi,
Thanks for the video, enjoy watching it. I am going to try this out myself! It looks like a lot of fun too.
Nice video, always good to see different ideas in doing exercises on a low budget. Just goes to show you do not need all the big expensive equipment to get the results you are after.
I have to hand it to you – this is a brilliant idea! SO easy to do and to even control the amount of weight for the workouts, at a fraction of the cost of multiple dumbbells. Thank you so much for this!
Hey Scott,
This immediatly caught my eye when I got over here to read.
I have done this in the past, when I was trying to work out and wasn’t a member of a gym yet. (I was too embarrassed to step foot in that place the way I looked.
)
It’s funny that you mention sand. When I did this, I had a cat, so I used his cat litter jugs with sand in them.
Thanks for the cool tip.

Hi Scott,
This was a cool post. So many people are not able to go to the gym and need creative tips to get their “workout on”. I have seen some pretty creative ways people find in order to get into shape, so I really enjoyed the video.
Hey Scott,
Great post and ideas as usual. The main thing is keep active and eat well.
Great workout. Quick at home workouts really are the way forward for budy people to burn fat and stay fit. It’s good to see stuff like this out there!
I personally prefer power-lifting which is very hard to do without a full set of gym equipment and weights.
However, this is a great idea for those who are just looking to be trim and fit. I am going to share this with my wife – maybe it will motivate her to at least get some quick workouts in while our daughters are asleep.
I loved your ideas for catching a good workout at home while saving money on cheap equipment (i.e. stability ball). I’m also a big fan of bodyweight exercises as I do then quite often. By the way, I think your intro to your “show” is great. Keep up the great work.
Great stuff! I’m all about low budget workouts and this is a godsend.
Thanks for sharing the excellent information with everyone! I found it really helpful and I’m sure other people will as well. Keep up the great work and the help coming!
very valuable info about health.

Hello, good video and it open my mind. Ehm, i like it. Thanks
A great example of how creativity can be utilized to save money. This is a great way to start conditioning your body!
Commercial Fitness equipment including treadmills, ellipticals, bikes and custom strength equipment.
This is cool man. I have been using paint jugs of one gallon to do some weight lifting as I can not afford weight set right now.
Hi, so glad you illustrated how to exercise without a suite of new and shiny exercise equipment. If we stick to the basics of stretching our bodies whether through activity or weight lifting then we will encourage our body to respond by making this repeated exercise easier next time.
