My strength has been increasing dramatically over the past 3 days of the Muscle Explosion Challenge. The crazy thing is that it seems to go against all logic. But Nick Nilsson predicted this would happen. This morning I thought there was no way that I would be able to lift more today than I did yesterday. I really had to psych myself up for todays workout.

My body was feeling sore from 2 days in a row of deadlifting. 20 minutes of deadlifting on Monday, 25 minutes of deadlifting on Tuesday, and now 30 minutes of deadlifting today. Each day Nick suggests that we attempt to increase the weight in addition to the duration.

Yesterday I felt strong. I felt ready for the challenge. Today was a bit tougher. I wasn’t ridiculously sore. I knew that I would be able to perform the movement correct and safe. But, if I wasn’t following the Muscle Explosion program, and I wasn’t so excited about achieving great results, I would have taken today off.

Boy am I ever glad that I didn’t take today off. I started with a weight that was 20 pounds heavier than yesterday, and 40 pounds heavier than the weight I started off with on Monday.

After I did a 5 minute warm up doing some lighter deadlifts I loosened right up and started feeling really good. I said to myself, “Bring it on!” I picked up the heavier weight and started the workout. I was floored at how long I was able to continue pounding out set after set with the same weight.

What really surprised me was that I finished off my workout with the weight that I started with yesterday. Now yesterday, this weight felt very challenging. There was no way that I could have gone heavier for the amount of reps that was required yesterday.

But today, that weight was totally manageable. In the last burnout set I was able to pump out 15 reps with that weight. Yesterday I was only able to do 6 at the beginning of the workout with that weight. Now I can do 15 reps after 30 minutes of deadlifting…

This is insanity!

I don’t know what Nick Nilsson and the Muscle Explosion program are doing to my body, but I’m really loving it!

What I ate today…

Meal 1: 3 whole eggs with salsa, 2/3 cup oatmeal with mixed berries, Prograde VGF+25 multi-vitamin, Prograde EFA-Icon, 5 grams creatine, 5 grams glutamine

Meal 2: 3 egg omelet, 1 slice toast, handful of home fries, 1 cup coffee

Pre-Workout Meal: Prograde Craver (peanut butter), 5 grams creatine

Post-Workout Meal: 5 grams creatine, 10 grams glutamine, Prograde Workout Recovery Shake with an extra scoop of protein, 1 chicken enchilada, home made chicken and vegetable soup (very hearty with big chunks of chicken).

Meal 5: Chicken and vegetable soup, 1 1/2 hand fulls of almonds, Prograde Craver, 5 grams creatine

Meal 6: 1 can of white flaked tuna, tbsp mayo

I am absolutely loving this journey and can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings while following the Muscle Explosion program.

I’m training with purpose and passion and I recommend that you do the same.
