Answer to following question:”What do you think it takes in order to achieve your dream body?”
My Answer: Simply, commitment to proper nutrition, eating habits, willingness to stick to a fitness plan. Also it helps me to have a vision and goals. I am currently working very hard to maintain my fitness goals and doing quite well.
Over the past 11 months, I’ve dropped my weight from 265 pounds to 205 pounds. In the process, I’ve seen some amazing changes to my body, and am expecting much more. I believe the key to change is consistency and perseverence. Although you can’t always eat healthy, and sometimes it’s easy to skip a workout or two, overall consistency is key. Arm in arm with consistency is perseverence. Sticking to your diet “lifestyle” and working out even when you don’t see significant changes can be difficult, but when you stick to a program, you will eventually begin to see amazing changes. Too many people give up just before their “breakthrough.” I’m not going to be one of those. I’m committed for the duration, and soon I’m expecting to achieve my dream body.
To achieve MY body takes an unwillingness to accept failure. Takes a singlemindedness of purpose. Must be a priority to the point of making a life change. It takes a passion strong enough to weather any excuse. It takes a plan smart yet simple enough to follow detailed enough to counteract any obstacle. It requires a desire to use the words of the naysayer to motivate while still maintaining a balance in your life. Although this endeavor can be all consuming, free time and space must be provided to maintain sanity. An understanding of plateaus must be learned in order to reach the next level. Once this mindset has been accomplished….DO IT!!
I think it requires a willingness to change the way you think,I believe in pretty much starts in the brain,as far as setting up nutrition and exercise goals go…and changing up your routine, without change nothing changes.add a little meditation and positive thinking,a good recipe for life.Take care Sharon Bass
“What Does It Take To Achieve Your Dream Body?”
First and foremost, you need the right mindset. If you don’t have that, you can have the best diet and exercise program in the world; but you won’t follow through with the consistency.
Without the right mindset, you won’t break through plateaus. You’ll quit when adversity comes… and it will come.
Achieving your dream body is 99% mindset… which is why I love your stuff, Scott.
You’ve got top notch exercise and nutrition advice; but more importantly, in everything you do, you stress WHY having the right mindset is so important… Then you dig deep and actually teach HOW to change a crummy mindset into one of perseverance, power, and prosperity.
Thanks for being a shining example, a caring teacher, and a great friend.

Yourself.
I believe it is all about mental and emotional energy. I have noticed I am able to stay balanced and on track when I am around positive energy people who feed my fire. Once I get around negative energy I attempt to deal with it and get away from that negative energy as quickly as I can. This is all in the mind and emotions. Secondly the simple learning curve, meaning what to eat, how to exercise, how often how much, and when to change your routine. I do believe in trainers and mentors if you are blessed to have them. I have been blending smoothies and adding leafy greens on a daily basis. It is like I drink a salad everyday. Chlorophyl is god’s way of cleaning the body, since this practice I have ZERO cravings of sweets or junk food. I believe getting the right nutrition eliminates all cravings and therefore you can stay on track. mind emotions education and nutrition are so far the key to this achievement. God bless you and shrink the fat cells.
In order to achieve my dream body takes guts, determination, mind power and stamina. It is something you have to work at gradually each day, and not be afraid of failure, because then you must start all over again. You must never give up, and accept the results of what you can achieve for your own body, and not try to compare with others.
Firstly I need to keep a firm image of my perfect self in my mind. Second I have to have passion and excitment about it. Third I need to have strong dedication and determination. And last but not least I should not let occasional failings rule what I can achieve. I know I can do this and I am so excited about it. Thank you for your help.
Tamara
Achieving my dream body takes only a simple shift in perspective. I have lost 28 pounds in a month and a half, and I have 20 more to go. But I remember when I weighed exactly what I do right now, a little over a year ago. I felt overweight, depressed, out of control, and powerless. And now here I am today, with essentially THE SAME body, but a completely different perspective. I look in the mirror and I no longer see someone who IS overweight, I see someone who is BECOMING fit. I feel power-full to enact change in my life, and because of that feeling, I prove it every day. I can’t help but do that, its effortless. There’s a little note hanging on my fridge that I wrote about 2 months ago that says “I release all blocks to my optimum health and well being.” My simple intention did all this, and its still doing it. Even more than your workouts, cultivate the shift in perspective and the rest just flows with ease. When I was ready, I easily found Scott’s Fit Chick workouts, his approach resonated with me, and I’m off on the next chapter of this amazing journey. Thanks, Scott!
I need to first be confident in myself. Don’t let people shoot you down. Be proud of the decision and the fact that you have the motivation and power of mind to change what may be holding you back. Surround yourself with people that believe in you, find a mentor that you can talk to if you ever need that encouraging push to keep going. Dream and aim as high as you can, the higher you aim for the more chance you will get better results.
Be strong in mind and chart your successes as you go. Be proud of everything you may be able to achieve. Don’t put things off till tommorrow, get motivated now!!!
A detailed vision is a must! You have to know the destination, other wise you will lose interest. Then of course a workout plan that works. On the other hand knowing and listening to your body instead of your mental conditioning is essential. If you eat and live according to how your family, friends or your cultural background told you to while growing up, you will have a lifestyle and a body just like those people. You want to take a step further ahead and direct “your” life according to how you prefer. This, for sure will effect how you look and feel about yourself. Have the inspiration, take action. Break-through!!!
Combining a goal with Absolute Urgency!
A goal with a deadline and a ultimate sense of urgency that really hits home for you.
Knowledge is not good enough without action, action is not good enough without consistency, consistant action comes from absolute urgency.
An example of this in my case is I am currently training for a weightlifting comp which is on the 15th September. There is no way that I would be training the way that I am at the moment if I did not have this goal and this deadline. What is my absolute urgency though? – I don’t want to be outlifted by a woman. Not gonna happen Scotty!
Atop the knowledge of good nutrition and exercise is the zest for life each of us have. I was reminded of this when I asked my boyfriend what he believed helped him achieve his dream body. His silly answer of pancakes added a smile and giggle to my day – what better way to work a belly than with a belly laugh? Yet, in today’s fast paced world, it is too easy (sometimes too comforting) to forget what it takes to maintain our zest for life by taking care of our bodies. Visualizing the younger me, mixed with images of what I never achieved, and believing I am more than capable would bring my inner self forward – and that is what achieving my inner dream body is to me.
To achieve my dream body, I first of all need a plan of action which are not to time consuming but yet challenging and exciting for me not to get bored.
I need to think right and tell myself everyday that I CAN and WILL!!! I need to understand nutrition and find the balance between cardio and strength training. (This can sometimes realy confuse me, I’ve heard and read so many different things about it).
To achieve my dream body, I feel it takes committment, transformation of mindset and perserverance. If a person believes they can do it, see themselves doing it, then I think half the battle is already won.
IM A 24 YEAR OLD MOTHER OF 2 AMAZING BOYS, AND EVER YEAR I SY THIS IS THE YEAR FOR ME TO LOOSE MY 15KGS AND STILL DO NOTHING ABOUT IT,

“What do you think it takes in order to achieve
your dream body?”
I think it takes what it takes to achieve anything you want in life. You have to get past yourself and your own limitations to see that your potential is greater than yourself and what you limit yourself to.
Once you start to envelope your focus in everything you do and start the momentum it can snowball something powerful. Soon it overtakes your old thinking and you naturally start gravitating towards it without as much effort as it took to get the momentum going. Then you find new information, new doors, new opportunities presenting themselves.
Just gearing in towards obtaining your perfect dream body involves manifesting focus, nutrition, more protein, self motivation, strength training, cardio, knowledge and putting your knowledge to work.
I’m in for the fight of my life. I am fighting my will to stay on the couch and eat, along with the submersing feeling of failure from my past defeats, with my ambition and the power of the will of my goals and not letting myself down, bringing consistent fitness into my life for now and until I die. Putting my visualizations and dreams into reality.

“What Do You Think It Takes In Order To Achieve Your Dream Body?â€
Scott, I need to make a commitment to me.
For the me to achieve my dream body, I need two things. I need to make a commitment to change my body, my life and the knowledge that you possess.
I need to place such a value upon me that I stop lying to myself and invest in myself.
The Why:
I am over weight by 15kg. I have 3 children, and since I had my last child, the weight piled on – unfortunately, because I was tired so much, and just couldn’t be bothered. Well, I have paid the price for that. I miss being fit and a better weight. I want that back so much. ALSO………..
I want to live a strong and healthy life. Life has so many things to offer. I believe that if I am not a ‘fit chick’ I will not be fully able to make the most out of life. I do NOT want to end up in my old age, all hunched over and moving around with walking sticks or walking frames. I want to be able to stand tall and live life to the fullest!
The How:
With the help from someone who KNOWS what I should do to get the results I want. I have the inspirational pictures of what I want my body to be. I even have a picture of an inspirational lady, who at the age now of 89, has driven around Australia ‘13’ times – on her own – since her husband died when she was 74. I want to be able to do things like that and more. She also has the ‘can do’ attitude that I have.
I have the commitment to achieve because I have seen people struggle with their weight, their posture, their day to day living – and not only old people. Also, the fitter and healthier we can become, the more inspiration we can give to others in this world of being overweight.
What it takes is: a) A willingness to accept and forgive the imperfections of your life as well as to be inspired to know that the power to change lies within us all. We have examples of everyday people who though determination, change and improve their lives. Fat loss is not an immovable mountain if you approach it by taking a bucket full of earth each day. b) A clear and precise vision of your goal: We’ve been seduced by the constant bombardment of weight-loss gurus which have made us think in unclear ways. This ISN’T about WEIGHT!! the scales are not the prime indicator of how things are progressing! My weight hardly moved for a month, yet I went down two jean sizes! Keep the goal clear! It’s fat loss that counts! c) A balanced view of life: Hey, on your way to your goal, if you take a litle rest stop, don’t let it become a major distraction. I have seen people who panic over having overindulged at a party or family gathering and then despair that they TOTALLY ruined their progress. Let’s not be too severe with ourselves. When sailing on the ocean, sometimes we get a little off course, but if we keep our hand on the rudder, we can steer our way back. In the long term, one weekend once in a while won’t wreck your long term goals. d) Be inspired and keep inspired: I keep photos up of athletes and body builders I admire in my office and home to keep me inspired as to the direction I want to keep moving in. I also have a photo diary of what I was like 2, 4, 6 months ago to 1) show myself how far I’ve come and 2)show me where I don’t wish to return. Every day is a celebration!
All in all, If you eat correctly, train hard and enjoy your life, the dream is far closer to becoming reality!!
In order to achieve one’s dream body, one needs to have (in order):
- Strong will and determination
- Aware of his body’s capabilities and weaknesses.
- Develop accrodingly a proper plan for
* Nutrition
* Work out
* Rest
- Accept challenges and have a positive mind-set and attitude to transform any challenge and negative inputs into a positive outcome, and most importantly realising and accepting one’s body limitations so to create the best shape their own body can have, not by trying to shape it as per someone else’s, our bodies are unique and they need to be shaped as such.
To be honest I do not know what it will take to achieve my dream body as my goals are always changing. Once I achieve one goal I set another. Therefore my ‘dream’ is always changing. The basics is to keep refining what I have. At 56 years I am finally able to begin to see my abs. In the last six months I am also able to see definition in my shoulders. This is all part of my dream. The dream is always to rfine what I have. Never be satisfied! As long as I breath I will be striving to achieve my ‘dream’ body. In the end I guess it is the willingness to strive that is what it will take to achieve the ‘dream’.
commitment and actually doing the body work every day. believing that what I want to happen will happen. scheduling the time to do the exercises and finish what I set out to do in the time alloted. good nutrition.
Fat loss takes a mind re-set and commitment, with focus on the goal…daily planning, especially before celebrations (bring something good, such as a veggie tray, so that you KNOW there will be something there to help you maintain control!). It takes MOVITATION, MINDSET, MAINTENANCE, AND MOVEMENT! Stick-to-it, as “What your mind can believe, it can achieve”!!
Well…honestly? In my experience of having lost weight before i’d have to say an almost obsessive determination can help you acheive your goals. I would just exercise everyday till now its a habit and back then i didnt even know all of the things i now know i would exercise, starve myself and then binge eat but i did loose the weight then because of my mindset. The weight is back again because of the comfort binge eating cycles and this time i want to do it the healthy way and i know that i need guidance cause while i was so determined and acheived my goal at any cost – even to my health…I dont want to do that again,I want to be able to use the power of my mind to give myself a health, fit body not just a skinny one. i am hoping to get married shortly and ofcourse i want to looK great as any bride would but i also want children and to be healthy and the way i went about it the last time i know i had hurt myself and i could tell that while i got skinny, i was not healthy. I didnt feel ‘energised’ as people do and i know its because of all the exercise i was doing while starving myself. I want to be healthy this time and follow proper guidance and i want to channel my already high mental focus and try to not be obsessive or follow eating disorder type of behaviour but at this time to acheive my goal this time around and keep on a healthy mental path to sustain the weight loss. This is what appealed to me when i got your link to your website you acknowledge the power of the mind, other ones focus soley on exercises or nutrition and no site i have been on focused so clearly on the ‘mind’ as you do. Help me! – Khandi
I think it takes a combination of many things. The first and most important is a desire to change. Without desire you won’t want to do anything! once you have desire you need motivation to keep you going even through the tough or slow patches, you need something bigger then I want to look good in a bathing suit. For me this is I want to be a good role model for my two kids because I know that they will mimic whatever I do. So if I choose to slack off and be unhealthy they will be unhealthy if I stick to it and make it fun they will learn to stick to it and make it fun. You need a plan! If you don’t have a plan and don’t do research it’s like shooting a bow and arrow blind folded you could fluke out but odds are..so take off the blind fold, do some serious research and make or find a plan of proven methods (like Fit chic/bastard/unstopable fat loss)that fit your lifestyle. Lastly is make these changes permanent, I think you only obtain your dream body if you manage to keep it! This is why you need a plan that works with your life, there is no one plan that 100% does everything for every one you need to find a plan that mirrors your values, your life, or where you see your life headed. If you don’t you may find your are frustrated with the miss fit and may not be as successful as you could be if you had looked at every aspect and made the plan work for you instead of making you work for the plan.
A dream body takes a Balanced 3D approach: Desire, Diet and Discipline. Desire creates motivation which leads to action. Diet is all about the right nutrition to fuel your desire. Discipline comes from empowering your mind to act upon your desire for the dream body. Creating the balanced 3D approach to a dream body is a personal choice – our perception of what the dream body is as unique as each one of us.
I believe that fat loss and healthy eating have to become a natural extension of who we want to become. You have to live it and breathe it.! You have to eat to FEED your body ! Once you get that high of what quality, natural food does for your body , it will be hard to ever abuse your body with bad eating habits again . Believe, every day ,in your ability to nourish and strengthen your body with excellent eating and fitness routines.
To achieve one’s best body takes determination and perseverence. Once you know what you need to do, do it. Strive for progress.
I beleive NIKE already answered this along with everything else in life people want……..Just Do It.
what it takes to achieve your dream body is everything i.e MIND,BODY AND SOUL. first you have to recondition your mind to the positive saying that you can achieve your goal.secondly start working on your goal, get your body in the fitness mode. thirdly put your soul and all into what you are doing and stay motivated and on track.Remember only you can stop yourself from achieving your dream body.
What Do You Think It Takes In Order To Achieve Your Dream Body?
The ANSWER is MOTIVATION + DETERMINATION
To get/keep motivated just think about that sexy slim body you will have by keeping motivated on exersising or whatever it is you are doing to lose that unwanted gut etc etc. I just look around and the sexy bodied people at the gym and see what I WILL be like if I keep motivated and stick to exersising and this keeps me going and doesnt make me slack off or go slow on any machine and be lazy.
There is not a single answer, but rather several changes have to take place in order to achieve my dream body:
First:
Desire and determination to change.
Second:
Clear vision on realistic outcomes that suit your body type and life values.
Third:
Choice of a plan that fit your life comfortably. It is no use to add pressure to your life, pressure can be painful and a way to failure.
Fourth:
Learning everything about your goals and plans.
Fifth:
Emotional Strength: you can always initiate an emotional discipline where you attain emotional fitness along your physical fitness.
Sixth:
Spiritual empowerment that is to find a scared purpose that will keep you inspired. Question your intentions and motivations and work to align them to divinity. Payer is a great ally.
Seventh:
Commitment. Find root causes for your lack of commitment and let go of your resistance to success.
Eighth:
Embrace a new paradigm on nutrition and physical activities that will help you flow forward with the life you dream to live.
Ninth:
Reduce the amount of fuss over the dream outcome. It takes practice, if you have to “fake it until you make it”.
Tenth:
Magic words
Intend, perceive, choose, learn, embrace, pray, practice, aspire, flow.
What Do You Think It Takes In Order To Achieve Your Dream Body?
Learning, learning, learning. Gandhi said, “Learn as if you would live forever, live as if you would die tomorrow.”
You have to learn about setting goals, eating and preparing “real food”, when to eat, how to stay motivated, what exercises you should be doing and who you are going to reach out to for support. You have to learn to motivate yourself. I remind myself every day and many times throughout the day to stay consistent and stick to my plan. (Yes, I also have pictures and quotes all over the house too. LOL) After doing the research create a plan and stick to it. Be prepared to make changes if there is little or no progress.
“You can’t scream success when you lose muscle.” (Tammy Mapes). Loseing weight is easy, but losing weight and keeping the muscle is a little harder. This is a “lifestyle success story” for me and not an “overnight success story”. Having the body of my dreams is hard work and I’m prepared to do it! In the beginning I worked out even when I didn’t want to. Now I love to workout and I really miss it if I have to delay a workout. I don’t obsess over anything and I don’t stress out if my plan takes a detour. I just step in where I left off and work hard to do the best I can do. Just “going through the motions” is not enough. I push myself to lift more weight and I challenge myself on my elliptical and mountain bike to go faster and ride harder.
I am in control and responsible for my body. I don’t let naysayers put me down for changing my habits. I chose to “Live!” when I chose to start moving my body and stop abusing it with alcohol and bad foods. I’m not just getting my dream body, I’m getting the chance to live younger longer!
Perseverence and determination you didnt get this way overnight and it wil take time to get your goal.
Personal motivation can be rewards for consistency (new gym kit / water bottle)
Stick with it, don’t be so hard on yourself you’re doing great :0)
To achieve MY “dream” body I have had to sacrifice – no doubt. I have had to make a commitment to myself to stay focused on my goals and the journey it has been to get there.
I have committed to eating quality (low sodium/low sugar)meals for EVERY meal. I have cut out images of what I think my “dream” body will look like & stuck them on my fridge. I have surrounded myself with valuable information on fitness & nutrition. I have friends that have the same goals as I have. I am committed to physical activity on a daily basis.
I know that these changes in my daily behavior have helped me loose weight, acquire a healthier body and mind and helped me achieve the body I have always wanted to have!
have a realistic dream & make it a priority
Be the ball, stay the course, points of light, stay the course.
Be the ball – walk the talk as if you’ve already achieved your goal.
Stay the course – persist consistently
points of light – affirm your goal
stay the course – have a plan for nutrition and training, stick to it
After that, plan some cheat meals, and don’t sweat the small stuff : )
What Do You Think It Takes In Order To Achieve my Dream Body?
Well, that’s definitely a loaded question that I’m not even sure I have the full answer for, as I am still working hard to acheiving it.
For myself, it’s about realzing that every day habits have to change in order to work towards the dream of all dreams. I’ve attempted many times and failed many times but in doing so, have learned many new tools that help me get a little further the next time. I would have to say that commitment is one obsticle that constanly barricades my path. It’s something that takes patience, inner strength, sacrifice and dedication 100% of the time.
It’s easy to tell yourself that you have to buckle down, you have to focus on your goal and it’s easy to say Just Do It! The hard part is following through on all your beliefs and only seeing the Dream at the end of the tunnel without any distractions.
For me to achieve my dream body begins with organization – then attention to nutrition, exercise, and rest. I’m married, work full time, and have five children. Nutrition goal – pack my “Fuel” daily before going to work; Exercise goal – 4:30 a.m. at home workouts, alternating weights and cardo; Rest – not sure I get enough of that! I know I can reach each of the three main goals – maintaining consistency with them is the bigger goal!
I think one has to set goals and have the commitment to work-out,do intervals and eat nutritionaly sound meals. You also need a vision of what you want to look like once you achieve your goals. Staying healthy and having a dream body requires a lifetime change in habits. You also need support from your loved ones – you can’t go it alone. Knowledge of proper workout techniques and nutrition is also very important. Lastly, I think you need to have fun doing your training. If it’s not enjoyable to you, then it’s not worth it!
To achieve your dream body you need commitment. You have to commit to following a healthy diet and fitness program. You also have to want it so much you have a burning desire. That will drive your success;that is your motivation. I think that before actually having a diet and fitness program ready, you have to be ready mentally. You have to prepare yourself for the obstacles that you will face. You have to believe that you can achive your dream body. You have to be realistic of course. You have to avoid that all-or-nothing thinking. You can’t be too strict on yourself. You have to make your diet and exercise program a lifestlye instead of something you dread. After you have that mentality, you should focus on actually doing your workouts and following the diet you have chosen. You will be prepared mentally so when you are caught in a difficult situation, you already know what to do. If you prepare your mind, your body will follow. And of course consistency is key. You have to keep at it to actually see results because they won’t happen in just one day. And very important, you have to realize that you want to create YOUR dream body, not someone else’s. Everyone has their own ideal body. You have treat and feed your body right to get results.
Motivation, commitment, and perseverance.
Motivation waxes and wanes. It won’t get you through. It has to become habit, plain and simple. Just like brushing your teeth, bathing, all the things you just DO. It has to be as much a part of your life as your family, your home, all that’s important to you. Or what will happen when you “just don’t wanna?”
Hey, I was about 45 pounds overweight, then I got type 2 diabetes, pretty much got my act together overnight, after that…..NO MORE SUGAR, seriously, this works like a charm. cut out sugar and high and medium glycemic foods. Im sure we’ve heard it a thosand times but the weight will fall off within months, even without additional exercise.
Just have patience.
All the best. Dave

First off I believe that the first step to building your dream body requires an honest look at yourself, figurewhere you are at in terms of physical AND MENTAL development. Are you ready to make the commitmment to really build the best body you can? If you decide to take on the challenge, and IT IS a challenge indeed you need to start exercising a lot of people will disagree and argue that you need to map out a strategy first. And I definitely agree, you DO need a plan but it is essential
to just start exercising at your own pace of course, everything else will fall into place. Then as you evolve you`ll become a student of physical culture, try and learn all you can about nutrition, physiollogy, exercise and figure out what works for you! this is really a learning process, everybody reacts differently to exercise. Proper mindset is essential, you need to discipline yourself, it`ll pay off in ways that go beyond just the physical aspect. The fitness lifstyle is indeed a way of life, people need to understand this and take themselves seriously, this is key.
To achieve your dream body all you need is truthful information about dieting and exercise, implementation of a plan that WORKS BEST FOR YOU and finally GUT BUSTING DESIRE TO SUCCEED!!! THE PROPER APPLICATION OF KNOWLEGE (WISDOM) WITH DESIRE = EVENTUALLY REACHING YOUR GOAL TO ACHIEVE YOUR DREAM BODY This will work in ANY AREA of your life that you hope to succeed in. “As a man thinketh, so is he”
“What Do You Think It Takes In Order To Achieve Your Dream Body?â€
A commitment to being the best I can be, a commitment to respecting the fantastic gift that is my body and my health, a commitment to keep working hard no matter what, a mind open to helping me achieve my goal and a belief that I WILL get there!
oh…and a copy of your programs
What it takes to achieve my dream body?
Belief: Knowing i can and will achieve it, having an unstopable mindset and clear empowering vision of being there,
Focus: Having laser focus on my goal and every goal each and every week leading to my big goal.
Visualise: See it, feel it, taste it, to the point i get goosebumps seeing myself there and feeling how i do and will feel.
For me, the answer is simple: I need to learn to love myself, all of myself. Of course everything is easier said than done, right? If I truly respected my body, I would make time to go to the gym everyday, and I would keep all of that fattening, processed food far away from me. If I loved myself, I wouldn’t feel the need to binge when I’m sad, when I’m stressed, or when I’m bored. If I had loved myself when I weighed 125, I wouldn’t find myself in the situation I’m in now. The first step for me is to love and accept all my flaws, because if I don’t, I will never be happy with my body no matter how much weight I lose.
To believe in myself and commit completely to making that belief a reality. “If you think you can, or you think you can’t, you are absolutely right”
The trick that has been working for me is to be my own coach. everyday either in the morning or in the evening I write a letter to myself encouraging me to do better the next day, I always set at leat one goal for each day, usually its a small one like stop drinking coffee today, or do an extra 1/2 hour of yoga etc. it’s true that you are your own worst critic and I can sometimes be pretty tough on myself when I mess up but I always try to find something encouraging to tell myself, and I find that writing not only helps me eat better nutritionally but it helps me push myself to do better in my workouts too.
To achieve my dream body I have spent the last 20 years doing everything you can think of: diet, fasting, unbelievable amounts of cardio, weights, interval training, ridiculous restriction of food intake, the Atkins diet, the banana diet……EVERYTHING
And I must say I did every now and then achieve my dream body and then put weight on again and then start all over.
Three months ago I broke my neck and life stopped…….I couldn’t move, wasn’t sure whether I ever would again. Now I am slowly starting to swim again and I am getting better. What I found surprising though was that I didn’t put on weight and I didn’t loose too much tone either even though I went from 100% exercise to nothing and I just ate what I felt like. Sometimes fruit, sometimes chocolate muffins.
So – finally after all these years – I now know that it’s in your head! I told myself I would get back into it and still look good whatever the outcome of my injury – and here I am, still with not much energy, but everybody commenting on how good I look. One lady said, “if it wasn’t for your neckbrace you would think you have been at a resort!”
My advice: think positive, eat healthy but don’t restrict yourself and don’t worry if you can’t do 100 pushups – a paddle in the pool will do as well if that’s all your body is capable of at the time. It will come!
I believe your mind set will set you free. The willingness to change your thought process regarding your workouts.Forget all the crap the industry has been feeding us. The willingness to commit to yourself in making a better “YOU”!
I love my workouts “bring on the burn”.
The first step is to believe in yourself. Knowing how to eat properly and to exercise means very little if you don’t believe you can succeed.
Constant and never ending improvement.
Daily exercise balanced out with moments of silence
gratitude for what I’ve achieved so far
daily attention to self as well as others
fresh clean food
days of down time and relaxation
working with they body rather than against it
Good fats
and…
every good program requires a plan and sufficient time to implement
… the key component time to see the results
Be Well
Well, after years of bouncing back to being overwight, I have come to belive that for me it will be to get rid of the fear that makes me (uncounciously) belive that being fit and slim will make me target of sexual undesired advances.
The thing I have struggled with my whole life is nutrition as exercising has always been apart of my life. Eating right with small meals everyday is something I need to improve on.
Hi Scott; I believe it takes the right mind set,the right attitude ,determination and lots of will power along with lots of hard work but in the end, when you have all that, it is well worth it. You can achieve anything when you go into it with all these features and setting a gold to what you want to get out of it.It works because I am living proof of it!
What does it take to acheive your dream body?
1-Desire. Desire will help you formulate a vision for what your dream body will look and feel like.
2-Goals. Setting powerfully motivating goals will begin to propel you in the direction you need to go to acheive your dream body.
3-Knowlege. You need to know the correct principles to follow to acheive what you desire. This will probably manifest itself in your life in the form of coaches, teachers, role models or mentors.
4-Planning. Really almost any reasonable plan can set you on the path to accomplishing your goals. If it needs adjusting along the way, you can do that as necessary. But you must still have a plan for your workouts and meals, so that you can mentally and physically prepare to get the most out of your workouts, and so that you don’t end up eating whatever is available, which usually isn’t good!
5-Balance. Finding the right mix of pushing to your limits, and listening to yor body to know when you’ve done enough, or when you need to take a day to rest. Also, putting fitness goals in their proper perspective in terms of the other goals and demands that exist in your life.
6-Attitude. Keeping the right attitude and mindset is vital in overcoming natural tedencies such as laziness, self-sabotage, discouragement etc. Also, viewing what your doing with excitement and enthusiasm. Having fun with the journey of self-awareness and self-discovery that you will surely experience as you work towards your dream body. There is so much satisfaction that comes from dreaming, setting goals and accomplishing them! Enjoy the journey and you will experience success beyond your wildest dreams!!!
