5 Reasons You Should Feel Guilty For Eating Those Chocolate Bunnies

Five reasons why you should feel guilty about over-eating during the holiday weekend and indulging in chocolate bunnies…

5) You believe in striving for perfection

4) You love to verbally abuse yourself with phrases such as, “You’re such a failure. I hate myself for always sabotaging my goals.”

3) You believe that chocolate is evil and will go directly to your hips the second it touches your lips.

2) You get a high from the self torture that you go through as you watch everyone else eat desert while you refuse.

1) You believe that you must never eat junk food as a punishment for bad behavior
in a previous lifetime.

I hope that you realized I was joking before you got to #1.

Bottom line, you should never

Your Waistline – Food Density To Blame?

When it comes to keeping your waistline trim for life, take a really good look at the types of food you are choosing. Foods such as fruits and vegetables are low in calories and can therefore be consumed in high volumes. You will feel full longer on these types of foods. Whereas, if you choose sweets and processed foods, you are risking consuming a high number of calories by eating only a small volume of food.

Just envision this: a small hamburger on your plate. Or, a large salad, sandwich on whole wheat bread, and celery sticks. Now, what do you think will keep you feeling full longer?

Try this today: For your first 3 meals, have a serving of fruit. For your next 3 meals have a serving of vegetables at each meal. There are many reasons why eating more fruits and vegetables will keep you slim:

Healthy Meal – Stuffed Bell Peppers

Stuffed Green Peppers are full of so many nutrients. They are an excellent, healthy meal packed with fiber. This meal does NOT need to take up much of your time…simply prepare the rice ahead of time, add a few more ingredients, stuff the peppers, and put them into your crockpot to simmer all day. Voila! A nutritious meal in NO TIME!

What I love about this meal is you are getting lots of vegetables and protein. I used black beans for protein, however you can add lean ground beef.

I hope that you enjoy the video and give this meal a try! :)

Cheers to health,

Clementines – A Healthy Snack

Widely available right now are scrumptious, tiny clementines. They are available from November – March. To pick them fresh…look for: shiny, bright, and orange features. They should be firm, yet leave a slight indentation when squeezed.

Clementines are an awesome source of vitamin C, fiber, folate, and potassium. A medium size fruit is only 50 calories and they are the perfect size for little hands!

Excellent as a light snack, very easy to peel…and can also be used up in salads or desserts.

I suggest you put them in a bowl so that they are VISIBLE and easy to grab!

Cheers to health,

Angie

Keep It About ‘The Cheer’ Not The ‘S-P-R-E-A-D’

Well, the holidays are upon us and it’s that time of year of family gatherings, wonderful memories, and, of course, lots of scruptuous food!

Do you already have the thoughts that…”Ya, maybe I’ll just wait until the New Year to begin my diet program.” Or, “There is no point in trying to stick to my plan during the holidays since I HAVE TO eat Aunt Pat’s homemade apple pie or I just HAVE TO eat one of her delicious brownies.”

If you are already succumbing to this kind of ‘all or none thinking’ you are setting yourself up to loosen your belt another notch. This is obviously not the direction you want.

Diet Week at Unstoppable Fat Loss

Diet is the topic of discussion for this week. Everyday this week I will be answering your nutrition questions as well as providing you with reviews of the diet programs that I’ve followed during the past 5 years. Your diet is going to be the biggest contributor for successfully losing weight. If your diet sucks it will be nearly impossible to lose weight no matter how much you exercise.

With that in mind, if you want to achieve fast weight loss and keep it off permanently, you need to incorporate resistance training, cardio, and mindset training into your program.

Let’s kick off Diet Week with a question from a fellow Unstoppable Fat Loss reader.

Question: Scott, I really have a lot of respect for you’re opinion that’s why I’m asking for your guidance. I feel lost lately. I have lost about 50 pounds watching calories, but now I want to take it to the next step.

Nature’s Pharmacy… Foods For Optimal Health

I just received a great email about how natural foods like fruits and vegetables are all a part of Nature’s Pharmacy. It’s pretty neat how each fruit and vegetable below show distinct characteristics of what body part they impact the most with their nutrient rich properties. Take a look at the pictures below along with the body part that they effect the most. It’s pretty awesome!

Nature’s Pharmacy

What Are My Best Fish Choices?

Hello! This is a concern worldwide. How much mercury is in the fish? How many portions should I consume in a week? Where did the fish come from – ocean or farm raised? What does this mean?

From the recent research I did, this is what I can share with you:

1. Sardines and Herring – have the highest levels of omega 3 fats of all fish. A 3 oz. portion equals 1.3-2 g. of omega -3 fats.

2. Mackeral – choose a smaller fish, this will equal less mercury in it. Your best buy will be from sources: Atlantic (Boston), Pacific (Jack), and Spanish (Mack) because of the high levels of omega 3 fats and lowest levels of mercury. A 3 oz. portion = 1.1 to 1.7 g. of omega 3.

3. Salmon – 3 oz. portion = 0.9- 1.8 g. omega 3 fats. Choose from either WILD salmon or better yet, ALASKAN salmon which has cleaner water. A trustworthy farming company that has ‘raised salmon’ is the Atlantic Salmon of Maine.
