When it comes to healthy snacks Angie and I absolutely love a variety of home made dips. Today I’m going to share an avocado dip recipe that we experimented with last night and really enjoyed. Check it out…
Healthy Eating Tastes Great!
Here are the ingredients in this recipe and a note about what we will do next time we make it…
This was the first time that we tried to make this dip and I didn’t plan on recording it on video because we weren’t sure how it would turn out. Angie new most of the ingredients but didn’t have a recipe to follow.
Next time we may add one more avocado. We’re also going to try using a bunch of fresh tomatoes instead of the canned. This will thicken up the dip. It wasn’t runny at all this time, but we want to see what way we like it better.
You can add garlic to meet your taste preferences. We love garlic and used 3 cloves I believe. Same thing with the cilantro. We may actually add a bit more of that the next time.
I’ll share another great dip with you tomorrow.
Let me know if you go ahead and prepare this avocado dip yourself and share your feedback with us here. Let me know if you add anything different to the recipe and why.
On a side note, I’ve witnessed people avoid avocado’s because of their high fat content. Sure you don’t want to go eating a boatload of avocado’s each day, but this incredible super food contains the healthy fats that will have a significant impact on your overall health as well as your fat loss efforts.
We enjoy adding avocado’s to our salads for flavor and texture as well as variety. Have no fear of the wonderful and amazing avocado
Have a ROCK’n day!
Keeping It Real,

I’m allergic to cilantro…in the very bad “throat closes up-tongue swelling” kinda way. What can be used instead of cilantro in your dip? I really enjoy avocado and guacamole, but most of them have cilantro in them, so I can’t part-take. What do you suggest? Thanks!
Andrea, I don’t think that cilantro is a crucial ingredient in this recipe. Try to make it without the cilantro and let me know what you think.
You can use parsley unless of course it causes a reaction also.
Greetings from Mexico.
WOW, what a great dip, I’ll try making it this weekend.
OK, so I thought I’d let you in on how we prepare ‘guacamole’ here in Mexico. It is a great idea to eat it with your meals, specially if you are having some grilled meat or something like that. You need, avocado, tomatoes, onion, garlic, salt and jalapeno peppers and cilantro. It is very simple, actually the ammounts of every ingredient you need depends pretty much on your taste, if you like one flavor more than the other you can use all you want. You just need to chop everything in small cubes, put it in a bowl, sprinkle some lemon and use salt for flavor, and that’s it. For the peppers use only the green part, do not use the seeds or the white veins inside because if you do it will be very hot! and do not use too much if you’re not used to hot flavors. The idea is to get a very colorful garnish and it makes also a delicious snack with chips.
Have fun!
Yay! Thanks for sharing this great recipe tip with us Vania. You ROCK!
I also love including avocados in my diet. One of my favorite ways to eat them is to cut one in half, wrap one half to refrigerate and save for tomorrow, then just take a spoon, scoop and eat right out of the skin.
We make guacamole at least once a month, using a recipe similar to what Vania posted. Only I don’t add in any jalapenos to keep it mild, or any salt. A delicious, great way to get those healthy fats.
I love adding mild salsa to my guacamole with chopped tomatoes and onions.
This looks delicious! My favorite source for healthy snack ideas is http://www.snack-girl.com/
Delicious! Thank you for sharing this. But do you think there is enough healthy fats in the avocado?
Greetings
