For the December Unstoppable Fat Loss Contest I asked the question, “How Can I Best Help You Achieve Your Fat Loss Goals In 2008?” The responses have been outstanding. I can’t wait to get cracking on your suggestions and to hear all about your successes because of them. Before I announce the winner, I want to take a moment to discus a common concern that has been repeated from many of you over the past several months…
You want the motivation and inspiration to stick to and follow through with whatever program that you are currently following. You want to be able to blast through any obstacle or challenge that you are faced with. You want to put an end to self-sabotage and yo-yo dieting and finally feel great about yourself.
A few months back when I asked you the question, “What do you think it takes to achieve your dream body?“, over 60 of you responded with mindset and motivation.
For the December contest these were just a few of your responses…
From Emily:
Hi Scott. well i think there is already so much information out there on diet and exercise that the problem for me isn’t knowing what to do but choosing something and sticking with it. i already exercise and eat a fairly healthy diet, but seem to fall into self-destructive patterns when i find myself finally making progress. i will slip from the gym or lose control with eating until i find myself right back where i started. I know about goal setting and linking my values to my goals, but something still seems to be missing because i can’t seem to change.
From Debbie:
My problem is I get going and then I have a set back that is hard to recover from. I am a mom of three boys ages 18,6 and 1 and they keep me going. I find it hard to make time for myself and I really find it hard to motivate myself. I just turned 40 and I wonder deep down if it is too late to really get back that 20 year olds body I used to have. I need motivation, encouragement and people that wont judge me on what it is I would like to accomplish for myself.
From Marje:
Right, well I’ve only been following you for a few days but already I feel more motivated. I liked the video about the motivation ‘body parts all over the house’ thing though perhaps my husband wouldn’t agree. I am 53 years old and if you can help me you can help anybody!! Keep it up!
From Tracy:
what would help me the most is a daily reminder or push per se’ that would come to me each day as a reminder in email or a text to my phone that reads have you done todays workout or get your butt to the gym boy.
From Cherie:
Scott, My wish for 2008 is for you to start an AUDIO version of Fit Chic and Fit Bastard. More and more authors are doing this with their own books. You are truly inspirational. I loved your Unstoppable fat loss audio series. I would love to be inspired -on the go- by listening to your other books. And you would catch the crowd that doesn’t enjoy actually reading a book but love to listen.
So from reading your comments and emails everyday I can see that you understand that mindset must be at the forefront of your fitness journey and many of you have begun to take some action steps such as Emily who said, “I know about goal setting and linking my values to my goals, but something still seems to be missing because i can’t seem to change.” Goal setting and core values are a component of mindset, but there’s so much more to it.
The only thing that I ask of you in 2008 is for you to please place mindset training at the very top of your overall fitness plan. Trust me. When you do this, the workouts and the eating all fall into place.
But there needs to be 100% honest effort and commitment when it comes to mindset training. You can’t just say that you know about goal setting, core values, beliefs, attitudes, visualization, positive thinking, mental imagery, mental rehearsal, accountability, support, journaling, growth, comfort zones, and every other component of mindset. You’ve actually got to apply this information on a regular basis. It doesn’t necessarily have to be every day. Even I don’t log into my journal every day… but it is a regular practice of mine.
I’ve known for many years about this need that so many of you have when it comes to motivation. I’ve studied the topic during my 4 years of University and I continue to study it to this day. I’ve studied elite athletes and understand that it’s those who commit to mindset training that end up becoming the successful champions. I’ve studied people who successfully lose weight and burn fat and notice that they all incorporated some form of mindset training into their program and the real successful people became very creative with their mindset training.
This is why I created Unstoppable Fat Loss nearly 1 year ago. Even with all of my studies on the topic of mindset and motivation I was floored at what I learned from each of the 21 interviews within the program.
I’ve listened to all of the audios a few dozen times and just listened to one of them during my brisk walk this morning. Once again I took a tidbit of information that I had missed when previously listening to it and I’m applying it today.
This is one resource that I highly recommend you check out and consider using in 2008. It will enhance and compliment any workout or diet program that you are currently following and ever follow in the future.

When it comes to motivation there are 2 key elements that you must have. Support & Accountability. Tom Venuto’s “Burn The Fat Inner Circle“ is the #1 resource when it comes to these 2 key elements.
For $1 you get instant access to a one month trial in the Burn The Fat Inner Circle to see just how awesome this place is. I’m a contributing writer and moderator of the ‘Goals & Motivation’ forum and spend a fair amount of time there.
But it’s much more than just support and accountability. There’s a wealth of fat loss information at your finger tips. Tom Venuto’s community gets my highest recommendation and I truly hope to see you inside as I know for certain just how much it will help you succeed in 2008.
This special trial offer is only available to a select few people. I’m a good friend of Tom’s and he has allowed me to extend this offer to you and for that I am incredibly grateful.

Now onto our December Unstoppable Fat Loss contest winner who will receive not only the 21 interviews contained in Unstoppable Fat Loss, but my 2 books as well, The Fit Chic, and The Fit Bastard.
And the winner is… Khandi!
This was Khandi’s response to my question, “How can I best help you achieve your fat loss goals in 2008:
Hey Scott,
This year has been a challenging one for me and looking back on it.i realized that I was unhappy for most of the year…this was a scary realization. Pretty much a whole year of misfortune: lost my doggy she would be 16 years now- i don’t regret her dying I just miss her cause I’m so use to having her here for me), my fiancee has gotten a terrible case of cold feet and has called things off…financially things have been tough too so i cant even move out and have to coexist with him under new arrangements. I don’t recommend that for even my worst enemy (if i had one) But something amazing has come out of it, while I admit I still cry everyday, I have realized that these are things that happened to me. I didn’t mess up my relationship I’m still loving and patient in case he figures himself out, I didn’t kill my dog,…well maybe I could’ve managed my debt better but I’m working on that part…but I did gain weight and don’t have the body that I always wanted and that is something that I can control as hard as it may be. My focus has to be on making myself happy and doing and being the best that i can be. I refuse to be sad for a whole year this upcoming year and thats what will be unstoppable for me (no pun intended…well…maybe it was a little intended) I will pursue happiness and conquer my goals to have that satisfaction of knowing that I could do it.Sadness, loneliness and blows to the self esteem are the horrible reality of breakups but I can choose to handle it as well as I can on my part and ‘fix’ me…I just need your continued motivation. I love your wit and your personality and the way you have incorporated your family into your career. You may not realize it but you have helped me tremendously so far. I love your you tube videos and only hope you will make more for the New Year. Perhaps you could think of making dvds of your year long workouts-that would be awesome! If theres anyone out there who has been through hell and is tired of being sad- now is the time to change and take charge! wishing you, your family and fellow readers a truly Happy New Year
Once again it was difficult to choose a winner this month. You all shared great comments and I truly appreciate that. I didn’t choose Khandi because of her sob story in the beginning. I chose her because of how she turned her focus around and I could feel the fire burning desire deep insider her. I also love that she finished off by providing words of encouragement for everyone else. A very selfless act that I looked upon highly.
We can all learn from each others struggles and triumphs. I’ve been bankrupt, broke, depressed, and 30 pounds overweight before myself. I know what those tough times are like. I also know that because I can succeed you can succeed too.
My only hope is that each person who wins my monthly contests actually values the prize and applies the information. As much as I love giving things away, sometimes when people get things for free they feel that if they don’t use it there is no loss. Free stuff can be good, but when you pay for something you feel a loss if you don’t use it.
So congratulations Khandi! You earned this prize, now go make full use of it. For everyone else, I’ll announce my next contest shortly.
Happy New Year to all of you. Cheers to your success in 2008 and beyond.
